/co/ have memories now?
>>
>>151010230
I dunno man. I haven't had a good memory from 4chan in many years. I guess the most recent nice memory was when the site shut down and I got to hang out in the irc with a bunch of oldfags. What a completely different breed of people. They had interests outside of contemporary internet culture and they knew stuff. They were more straightforward too. But that is not exactly a 4chan memory.
The jannies have been trying to kill the site for years and they have been largely successful. The board cultures have largely dissipated, most contentfags have been driven away, lots of users left. I wish I had somewhere else to go.

It was fun seeing people assign colors to different characters. Honestly I don't think a comic's influence really got that wide spread since.

We should do something like that again.
And I only say that because I've never had the chance to do something like that in the first place.

I don't think it was the problem with cartoons. Through he mid 00s We talked about cartoons back then too, and were absolutely amazed by the first Iron Man movie. This place wasn't so jaded or couched in politics. The most edgy anyone got was with transmetapolitan calling regular superheroes "moralfags". It was the age of calling wolvering sniktbub and a majority of the board hating batwank. We loved comics and cartoons and were busy adopting anime like voltron and speed racer.

I don't recall, but it was used by people that just couldn't understand why a character would be good for the sake of being good. It was also used to denigrate people outside of /co/ for choosing to be decent, or playing something like a bioware game and picking the "good" options. It should have been a warning that 4chan would turn to dogshit, but I'm still here for some stupid reason.

I fucking disagree with your idea of "weak" and transitively "strong". It certainly wasn't a hugbox back then, but we can actively see what has happened to this place after the fact. The shitflinging of cuck, trans and political shit while also being insufferable assholes has made this place less.
It used to be that people stuck to the threads about things that interested them, or went into threads about things they knew nothing to find new shit to get into. These days hating and sharing your hate for things you don't enjoy has sort of become the norm. You can't have a conversation about things you like without a bunch of idiots bitching about what is wrong with the thing you like and why you shouldn't like it.
Don't get me wrong /co/ is still better than most of the site writ large, but it's nowhere near the peak of what it used to be.

>threads reminiscing about the cartoons I love
I know all of you despise me both for my namefagging and my tastes and opinions, but when the time comes that I'm not able to so much as lurk here again, I'll miss all of you fuckers.
