You can find them in droves at concerts though, but apart from there the culture really isn't the same. People act like TikTok refreshed alternative culture but instead it created a bunch of cultural ghouls walking around in the skin of a subculture, many not knowing or caring about the actual history behind it. Goths and arguably punks got it the worst but emos and scene kids aren't much better off. Warped dying and all the band allegations kind of killed off some of the culture. One of the worst things to ever happen to any dark subculture is the sudden hyperawareness of "edgy" things being "cringe". You see it in comic discussion all the time, people used to love Ennis, but now people call him an edgelord. Basically, you're kind of shit out of luck. Unless Jhonen Vasquez makes a new show, maybe it'll start it back up again.
