There was something very fundamentally wrong with Turning Red. And not that it was nominally about girls going through puberty. Just something wrong with the tone completely.

She's still a selfish little child, just one with super panda powers now.They REALLY need to make a Turning Red 2, where Mei discovers the comic book cliche, "with great power comes great responsibility". She needs to realize that to mature, she must use her panda powers to protect the people around her, the way Sun Ye originally intended.
