The Count Nefaria story just before this was way more awesome. This is just a "we need to find this dude" for nine issues and then he dies in the tenth.

And also Jim Shooter got promoted at around the same time and had to farm out a lot of the scripts. So it’s a bit of a mess, but at least it has “Avengers assemble… uh, on the corner outside.”
