90s X-Men is unironically subpar. People remember the early Lee artwork, but that lasted all of 11 issues. They meme on Onslaught and remember AoA as the beginning of the end, but these are still 3 things across a decade's worth of publication. There was, dunno, Operation Zero Tolerance? Scott and Jean marrying? But does anyone remember The Trial Of Gambit or The Phalanx Covenant? Hell, does literally anyone remember all the fill-in nothing issues of them teaming up with fucking Shang-Chi to take on Kingpin LARPing as a Weeb? The 90s concluded with The Magneto War and The Twelve, and literally nobody talks about them. The 12 at least served as the basis of Morrison's run, but honestly, if someone skipped like 70% of 90s X-Men they'd miss nothing important or worthwhile. It was Bloated Filler: The Decade.
