Brian Bendis is returning to Marvel Comics in 2026, but his new title is still secret. Speculation surrounds Bendis possibly writing Daredevil, relaunching Miles Morales, or Avengers. Avengers #800 teases a surprise creative team from the series’ past and may feature Brian Bendis. Bendis previously shaped Marvel’s Avengers and could help relaunch the team for a new era.The word I received last month that Brian Bendis is returning to Marvel Comics in 2026 has solidified over the MCM London Comic Con this past weekend. But what he will be writing for Marvel Comics has not been identified. But there is some mindless speculation, and you know Bleeding Cool is always down with that. The current Daredevil run written by Saladin Ahmed ended with Daredevil #25 last month, with art by Jose Luis Soared, Oren Junior and Jesus Aburtov, with a final "The End… For Now". The new Daredevil Born Again TV series is coming. Might Brian Bendis be the one to return to the Daredevil comic, after his run two=plus decades ago that was heavily influential on both the Netflix and Disney Daredevil series? With season two of Born Again coming at the beginning of March? Miles Morales: Spider-Man #42 is described a grand finale for the end of January 2026. Might it get a relaunch from Miles Morales' creator Brian Bendis? Especially with Ultimate Spider-Man, the comic that Morales originally appeared in as Spider-Man, also reaching its end in December? Avengers #800 in January is solicited as being written by Jed MacKay and a "surprise writer" and a "surprise artist" described as a "blockbuster return creative team from Avengers' past". Is Brian Bendis returning to the Avengers series, and maybe relaunching it in February or March? Will that artist be David Finch?
As I said, I know that he has signed the deal to return to Marvel Comics, but on what I am not sure. If I had to put money on it, he's the Avengers #800 writer, but the others are possibilities too. As of course is him reviving Street Poet Ray for Marvel Comics, but I think these first three guesses are the most likely.AVENGERS #34/800JED MACKAY & SURPRISE WRITER (W) • FARID KARAMI & SURPRISE ARTIST (A)WRAPAROUND COVER BY RUSSELL DAUTERMAN (ISSUES #34-36 ARE CONNECTING COVERS)VARIANT COVER BY CAFU • VIRGIN VARIANT COVER BY CAFUVARIANT COVER BY JUNGGEUN YOON • VARIANT COVER BY LEONARDO ROMEROX-MEN TRADING CARD VARIANT COVER BY ALESSANDRO CAPPUCCIOHOMAGE VARIANT COVER BY TBA • SPOILER VARIANT COVER BY TBAAVENGERS LEGACY ISSUE #800!• EARTH'S MIGHTIEST HEROES mark a critical MILESTONE with eight hundred issues!• Everything has been building toward this: MYRDDIN's ENDGAME!• KANG stands revealed at the precipice of a NEW UNIVERSE!• PLUS: A SURPRISE CAN'T-MISS BLOCKBUSTER RETURN CREATIVE TEAM FROM AVENGERS' PAST!48 PGS./Rated T+ …$7.99
>>151020253Ewing is the obvious choice for Avengers writer and has been for like a decade, but if Marvel has a mandate that almost all the characters should have their own books, then he might not want it. If they asked him to write the lineup they gave McKay he would probably have been wise to pass.I have no idea why they do it this way, since Busiek and even Bendis had the traditional mix of stars with characters who were exclusive to the writer. But they started doing it this way with All-New, All-Different and still haven't given it up.Anyway if they've condemned The Avengers to be a book with zero character development, why not bring back Bendis? At least we'll feel something about the book even if it's rage.
I don't like this
>>151020253Keep him the fuck away
Bendis?
>>151020608
>>151020253who gives a shit
>>151020253Give him a Luke Cage title and I'll buy it in a heartbeat.Luke is still Mayor, right?>Heroes for Higher Office>Hero of the People>Cage Administration>Cage vs. Corruption>Power Man - Power Broker>Power Man & the CityPick one.

>>151020451Marvel demands synergy with the movies, hence Sam Cap, BP, Carol, Wanda, Vision, etc on the team. And Bendis DESPISES Wanda and Vision and doesn't like Sam, even though Sam's a nogger. If Bendis took over the book, it would most likely see a reset to the classic New Avengers roster: Iron Man, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Luke Cage, Jessica Drew Spider-Woman at the very least. I can see Bendis perhaps try and power flex and put DD in the Ronin costume as he originally intended and MAYBE Bendis trying to get his mitts on USAgent and Agatha Harkness purely to capitalize on Walker and Agatha being the only new additions to the MCU people give a shit about and him trying to steal credit for their popularity.
IF Bendis is coming back to Marvel, he's writing X-Men. Brevoort took a huge steaming shit on fans of X-Men 97 and the 90s era by making the post-Krakoa status quo be the Bendis 10s era status quo and why fucking keep McKay on the book writing imitation Bendis shit when Brevoort can bring Bendis proper back to save his ass from being fired for fucking up the sales for the X-Books?
>>151020780Given that Bendis killed Agatha off in his first story, no way he brings her back. Walker MAYBE, but I can also see Bendis wanting to bring USAgent onto the team purely to shit on him for being a conservative and try and gaslight people into thinking John is the "fake Cap" not Sam.
>>151020253Give Bendis Miles since that's clearly what he loves most and no one gives a fuck about Miles anyway
>>151020743whyhe'll be gone again in six months, this isn't 20 years ago when you could coast on 10k sales a month and Bendis could still sell 10x that the man has no fans and writes badly
>>151020721Also, Luke Cage is a awful mayor
