This is my favorite Hobgoblin moment. Some say he fell off after his debut 2-parter but I think his best appearance is in the X-Men 2 parter. This is where the hacker bit originates from and it's very satisfying to see him destroy Landon. It feels like they wanted the audience to root for Hobgoblin because Landon was technically the bigger bad.
>>151026651it was about the bigger picture being the ethics concerning mutants but he was inserted as a wild card out for himself, not really interested in the political fallout. i was not rooting for him, i was rooting for beast, who had the most skin in the game for the entire story
>>151026671Hobgoblin being evil but sometimes a chaotic neutral figure is peak entertainment and the only other time I've ever seen this trait utilized is Hobgoblin Axis.
>>151026651based
>>151026740Hobgoblin is the better Goblin
>>151027141I wonder what would've become of Hobgoblin if TAS had NEVER gotten to do Green Goblin. Would he have still followed the same story beats, or would he have eventually become more of a "final boss" himself?
How much of Hobgoblin being "based" is you guys just loving another excuse to hear Mark Hamill's Joker?
>>151026740Try this issue where Spider-Man and Hobgoblin have to team up to fight evil monster versions of themselves. It also gives him a "merc gets really excited to try out a new gun" moment.
>>151027111on what?
>>151027203Personally I thought Hobgoblin was one of Hamill's weaker roles.>>151027162Hard to say, I feel like they might have done a more in depth version of his arc to mirror the comics but even by the point they did he was more or less B-tier fodder
