I don't know why, but the 2000's nostalgia (from people born after 2005) has a bitter aftertaste. It's genuine but they all has that "look what they took from us" ulterior motive.
It's not something I see from 90's and older decades nostalgia.
Every "indie website" from neocities or nekoweb from 2021 and onward, tries so hard to be a 2000's personal site, that they don't genuine at all. They are just fucking larping as a teenager from 2005.

Neocities websites are mostly made by larping teenagers who didn't actually experience the 2000s internet and it shows.
