My criticism of Primal was that it was just kind of pointless wandering risking untimely death from increasingly bizarre horrors for no reason or purpose if they never actually found a family to replace the one they lost. Fang did so and Spear at least reproduced so he already won. I'm fine with the adventures continuing I don't really get why it was so important for Spear to got BBQd. Most of the criticism I remember about season 2 was fags who never touched Conan the Barbarian seething over Mira and bronze age tech in this obvious Hyborian age ass setting. It's only going to get more and more prevalent than it already was.

I'd be fine with an anthology series, Genndy could do some cool shit about WW1 or a lord of the flies ripoff or something, but I don't think it should be called Primal. That's about Spear and Fang and their universe. Maybe Primal: Subtitle if it is very obvious that it is set in the same universe at different time periods, not just modern day earth, but that would also mean no using real historical events.I'm also glad to have another stab at Spear's story, I found the ending kinda terrible last time. Not because of the weird charred sex, that was actually really surprising and I thought it was a cool choice, it's rare that a show manages to actually shock me like that and poses some interesting questions once you get over the initial reaction. The whole thing was just clumsy and rushed and overly focused on Mira and her tribe making making Fang feel like an afterthought and Spear feel like he was getting brushed aside narratively for convenience because they added too much shit to the setting they couldn't figure out how to make him interact with interestingly, so the finale with his daughter riding off into the sunset as a replacement that doesn't have any of his limitations as a caveman seemed like a copout.A sequel is just a good idea because it makes all that shit actually matter, now Genndy has to actually think about how he will respond to getting ridden as his last living act, how he can navigate a more advanced world, how his daughter being half neanderthal affects her growth and place in these societies, etc. Maybe don't base the entire thing on Spear going "Mira..." and chasing her around this time.It'll still have flaws I'm sure, I like Genndy but he just can't help himself when it comes to female characters sometimes, but I'm pretty confident the series will be better off afterwards.
