Why didn't he just tell them Woody was so valuable?
>>
So he could buy him for cheap
>>
>>151033114
He was greedy and evil. You can subconsciously tell this because Pixar used a visual technique called making him fat.
>>
>>151033169
Well yeah, fat people are greedy and evil. You'd have to be to consume so much food.

OP clearly doesn't know how to play the game
If you show your hand and say "this is worth money" the seller is going to jack up the price, you play it cool or underplay it if you're an asshole

Because Andy's mom doesn't give a shit. That's Andy's toy and until he gets back to consent, nobody's getting it for any price.

She literally went into his room and took a bunch of toys out to the yard sale to get rid of without consent while he was at camp.

>>151033855
Only weezy and for her he was a broken toy, aside of that it was mostly baby stuff and some small books.

>animators of Toy Story 4 be like
>>
If Al was trying to maximize how little money he was gonna spend to get his hands on Woody, $50 is still way too high of an asking price. The initial offer should have been like $1 and the highest being like $5 before he steals Woody.
>>
>Woody is the star of Woody's Roundup
>Somehow his toy is the rarest, to a degree where it is impossible for Al to find one in good condition with the hat
>Al presumably sells his entire collection for at least $10,000 or more, judging by the "extra zero" comment
>Wasn't willing to spend up money to make money, as the museum was only willing to accept the collection if the Woody doll was in it.
Either Woody's Roundup was an obscure show or I'm calling bullshit. There is no universe where the star character of any toyline is the hardest to come across on the resale market, usually they're made in at least double the quantity. Considering that the toys were probably the main merchandise of the show, I'd wager that everything else Al had would realistically be rarer than the Woody doll.
Considering Stinky Pete was such an unpopular character that he didn't sell well, he should've probably been the most valuable, especially since he's new in the box in incredible condition for a toy made in the 1950s.
That's my autistic-ass observation, but whatever.

I think it's more the condition that Woody was in rather than general rarity. A lot of those old 50s plush figures had pretty poor quality, typically not lasting long or deterorating with age, and Woody being damn near mint for his age was what caught his eye.
>>
>>151037582
Aparently Woody was the only one made
