Swamp Thing has had a surprising amount of media adaptations. Two movies, two live action TV shows and a cartoon. Yet he doesn’t really have that much brand recognition or wider pop culture relevance.

>>151041940It's because all the media that got made in the 80's and early 90's is closer to the 70's run, which DC tries to downplay. The fact that Holland isn't Swamp Thing and Swampy is just a plan creature who had his memories kills the pathos of the character for mainstream audiences.
