>>151034099My schizo theory that I pulled out of my ass is that Disney was making a lot of Straight to Video sequels to their movies at the time so DreamWorks decided to make their sequels/spin-offs theatrical releases to take another jab at Disney showing that their sequels are good enough to be worth watching on the big screen. Also a movie has a chance of making much more money having a theater run instead of being straight to video, so spite and money are the reasons for DreamWorks decisions which also mirrors its reason for existing.
