>>151036448>we are woke now>as our first act, we will bend down to the wishes of propaganda defending the integrity of a misogynist, racist child rapist
>>151036448Fog of Courage was an interesting case because I thought it being CG was the Monkey's Paw but no the CG was actually really good and the real Monkey's Paw moment was that we never got a proper revival, even though we got Fog and the Scooby movie crossover

In inspirit the "straight to video" quality of Disney sequels never died I just never expected it to hit the Studio that made Toy Story 2

>>151036448I remember Lord and Miller mentioning they wanted to bring this show back in 2014, I wonder if it would've been any better if it came out that year.
>>151037454qrd?
>>151037512Fuck, i forgot about the racoon...The iconic "racoon and baby try to kill each other" subplot What the fuck even was this movie??
>>151036448it was oddly disappointing50% of it felt just like stuff they'd do in the original series but the other 50% just felt off-putting and strangealso had they got another season, how the fuck would they have continued from that ridiculous cliffhanger? did they know going in that they weren't getting another season and just decided to end things as chaotically as possible for fun?
>>151036448Reboot was good. Filtered a lot of reddit as a bonus
>>151038481I would've loved to have been a fly on the wall in that new Clone High writers' room to better understand how they managed to write a continuation that pissed off practically EVERY fan, both old and new. Season 2 had a more balanced response because many of us were feeling the high of this cult show coming back after so long, but by Season 3 the rose-coloured glasses came off and any remaining hype had vanished entirely
>>151039023There was no writers' room. The whole two seasons were written on Zoom.
>>151036448...
>>151039574qrd?
>>151037454This series had 2 excellent seasons where they developed enough plot points to pick up and continue going forward. Then COVID and woke nation came and threw that in the trash and gave us a whole new cast that no one gave two shits about, while dropping most of the plot points that had been left previously.
>>151038195A rushed and not that well though out movie victim of having one year of development cut short.
>>151039598Power Girl had a decently popular and well-received book that was cut short by DC's "New 52" reboot. She was brought back in said reboot and subsequently mishandled. Come "Rebirth", DC straight up pretended she didn't exist. Years go by and she slowly starts making appearances again. Come "Dawn of DC" and Power Girl is finally brought back proper, starting with back-up stories written by Leah Williams. She was responsible for X-Terminators, which was, for lack of a better term, horny. Everybody thought she would be a perfect fit for PG, and hopes were high.Well, as it turns out, she was the worst possible choice. She didn't know anything about Power Girl beforehand and when she went to editorial for help, they told her to do whatever she wanted. So instead of doing research, Leah just tossed LITERALLY EVERYTHING about PG out the window-her personality, identity, history and relationships with other characters. Instead of a confident, sarcastic and seasoned bombshell, we got an incompetent, insecure and inexperienced version of Supergirl. What followed was ~2 years and 20 issues of banal, "quirky", inconsistent and sloppily-written crap that reads like twitter posts put to paper and is more concerned with mundane slice of life than being a superhero comic. The run was bad enough on its own, but coupled with the blatant character assassination, it becomes downright insulting.TL;DR: We spent years waiting for a new Power Girl solo book and instead got irredeemable garbage that was only Power Girl in name.
>>151038051Spends more time talking about Islam, autism and queer polyamory than heroics
>>151036448why were all the new character's designs so busy? that annoys me more than anything, because that's what OC characters always tend to do, except these were actually in the show.
>>151040194They were overthinking it, Same way the writers were overthinking THEIR duties
>>151037530Hey I'm only two of those things
>>151041083He's such a qt ~<3
>>151036448Might be the worst example of a reboot to a cult show I can think of. I remember the first episode actually being pretty good (I think it was the only one written by Lord and Miller so that tracks) but the rest of it felt like some blue haired Los Angeles millennial girl took reign of the entire show and decided it should lecture the audience about white privilege and shit rather than adhere to any of the original show's humor or style or wit. Had the occasional moment but it felt like a show that actively hated its own existence. I will never understand why they keep hiring these writers who are hostile towards the property they're rebooting, like what exactly do you hope to accomplish? You think the fans are going to like a remake that has disdain for everything they liked about the original?
>>151041060They should turn their brain off.
>>151041071Yeah, you're clearly not a child.
>>151043012fucky ou
>>151042103He's so babygirl
>>151039970This was one of the worst comics of recent years.Like people talk about comics being shit, mainly because they aren't teenagers in the 90s anymore so it all feels less interesting than it used to, but this is an example of a genuinely shit comic. They changes Power Girl's civilian name to 'Paige' instead of Karen, which it had been for decades because of the recent Karen meme. I don't even think people will remember the Karen meme in like 5 years, they could have just waited it out.
>>151040194They wanted, for the first episode, there to be a clear distinction between the old and the new, since the revival's pilot was all about the old cast being fish out of water. But it kinda just fucked them over for the rest of the show, since they couldn't backtrack from the jarring and ugly designs.
>>151040194Modern Simpsons syndrome. For some reason modern artists who work as character designers are incapable of replicating the simple artsyles of the shows they work on. I think the problem is that a lot of these people aren't confident enough in the writing of these shows to make sure their new characters won't be over shadowed and forgotten by fans who love and prefer the original, simple characters who have had years of character development and exposure. So instead of making sure the writing is up to snuff they instead chose to make the designs.of the new characters loud and busy as fuck so audiences have to pay attention to them and won't forget them.
>>151041060>when a random fan understands your show better than the writers you hired for the job
>>151038195Something no one really wanted to make. Expect the third one to be the same.
>>151044790To make matters worse, DC repeatedly rejected pitches from Palmiotti & Conner-y'know, 2/3s of the team behind what many consider the definitive Power Girl run. And when they do decide to do something with her, they don't go to them and instead hand the assignment to someone who didn't know or care about the character at all. They did make sure to get them for a variant cover, though!>They changed Power Girl's civilian name to 'Paige' instead of Karen, which it had been for decades because of the recent Karen meme.I don't doubt that's part of it. I'm also sure Leah 1.) didn't want to deal the "baggage" (read: do research) of Power Girl's history and would rather have just started anew, and 2.) thought giving her a new name would distinguish her from Supergirl, over, y'know, actually showing how they differ. It was never really a problem until DC decided it was, and in their attempt to fix it, ironically made the two more similar than ever.>they could have just waited it out.The thing is, Leah's Power Girl was just a stealth Supergirl book. DC wanted to wait until she debuted in the DCU to put out an actual Supergirl book, so Power Girl had to sub in for her in the meantime. It's the reason she was brought back at all, why she was pushed as a Super-Family character first and foremost and why the book lasted far longer than it reasonably should have. It was glorified filler, padding out time and the anemic "Superman Family" line of books which was solely Superman and Action Comics.
>>151046901>giving her a new name would distinguish her from SupergirlPG already has her own name, Karen whatsherlastname. Supergirl was Linda Lee Danvers

>>151037454This show made me feel thankful over the fact Spectacular Spider-Man and Gargoyles will never come back. Can you imagine how awful those shows would be under the helm of Modern Pozzed Greg Weisman and a Kevin Feige who wants everthing to be related to his shitty multi-billion dollar fanfiction?
>>151036448What went to hell there?
>>151048833Oh totally. It’s actually insane how great the first few episodes were until the romance shit came in. The final episode was so fucking retarded
>>151053574Season 5 was highly demanded by fans, to see a proper ending to Jack's neverending quest of returning to the past and finishing off Aku. With the announcement it would be on Adult Swim instead of Cartoon Network, people were more hyped as Genndy wouldn't have to limit himself to the violence he showed (and probably some swearing). I think it's important to note that this season came out at the same time as Rick & Morty s3, cause that gives you an idea of what people liked at the time.Episodes 1-3 were fantastic, acclaimed by all. Although some inconsistencies started showing with Jack's moral dilemma of having taken his first HUMAN life. I don't remember if they retconned his fight against the 6 mercenaries here or before, but that led to a lot of questioning about his behavior before.Episode 4 is where the pace started to slow down. Episode 6 felt like filler in a 10 episode season. Episode 7 was making things interesting again only for 8 to feel like another filler (or more so an excuse to make Jack and Ashi bang).Episode 9 was picking up the pace slowly, only to rush everything in episode 10 and giving you the most "what the fuck?" ending possible. Since Ashi is a daughter of Aku, she has his power, including time travel. Both go back, kill Aku, who know how much time passes cause Jack and Ashi are wedding, but just as she steps into the altar, she vanishes because of time travel paradox.Last thing we see of Jack is him picking himself up from the saddest moment in his life, to ponder at the future with optimistic hope.
>>151053574>>151056170Also, they released a game that changed the story completely (and it was canon), but a year ago or so they decided to axe it, so now you can't buy it anymore.

>>151053671
>>151056703i think you're literally the only person in the world that wanted more. the series already started falling apart after the first arc
>>151044790>She didn't know anything about Power Girl beforehand and when she went to editorial for help, they told her to do whatever she wanted. Then it's the editors fault. If you tell an author they can change a pre-existing character as much as they want with no oversight don't be surprised if they just make their own thing instead. I'm like 90% convinced most of western comics problems stem heavily from retards in editorial
