>Kids in the late 1990's will love an 11 minute parody of The Beatles

What were they smoking?
>>
>>151037037
The Pinky and The Brain series (not the Animaniacs shorts) is so far up it's own ass it's unbelievable. If they were smoking anything, it was their own farts, and they couldn't get enough of them. Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain is honestly better, because at least that series is amusing due to it wallowing in self-deprecation.

Also the Powerpuff Girls did a fantastic 11 minute Beatles parody/tribute in the late 90s so that's not the issue here.
>>
>>151037037
Powerpuff Girls did it again later on. Beatles parodies are simply eternal.

>Pinky, Elmyra and the Brain is honestly better
Well isn’t that cute…
BUT IT’S WRONG!!!!!
>>
>>151037037
did you forget how popular the beatles were among millennials in the 2000s? love for the beatles was imprinted in them thanks to these cartoons.
>>
>>151037310
And of course, they all openly roast Yoko Ono.
>>
>>151037264
Still the best Spielberg cartoon. The songs are fantastic and the characters are strong.

Beatles parodies were everywhere in the 90s, Timon and Pumbaa had an episode about them too, where they are literal bugs.

The Beatles had a huge resurgence in the 90s due to the release of Anthology, and the fact that Baby Boomers were going through a 60s+70s retro nostalgia kick. I was a kid at the time and pretty fucking familiar with them as a result. Bands like Oasis and Nirvana were basing songs on their style and directly covering their music. There's literally nothing surprising about them showing in a cartoon at the time.

I remember my parents taking me to see Yellow Submarine for my birthday.

you don't need to know the reference if the cartoon is well written and funny enough to stand on its own

boomers were high on their own farts and thought only their youth mattered.
>>
>>151037579
This, they were also releasing new masters of their old albums outside of Anthology and Yellow Submarine got a theatrical re-showing and VHS release. If you were a kid in the 90s there was basically no way you weren't exposed to them, which I think is why >>151037310 happened.

Still better than Elvis cameos.
>>
They look goofy and they talk funny 10/10 comedy

He's fat and he talks funny 10/10 comedy
>>151037644
Yeah I'm glad no future generation has or will ever do that again.

The real shit is the Orson Welles reference. It's fun when you know what it is but as a kid the humor of "up his own ass actor is a bitch to the sound guy" would fly over my head.

The Simpsons had a Beatles episode too. It's just more interesting when shows aimed at little kids did it.

Is it kind of wrong that most Elvis parodies are his decline before death?
"HAHA! Look at his failing health!"
>>
>>151037694
>Yeah I'm glad no future generation has or will ever do that again.
I actually find it really funny how this modern generation shit feels almost exactly like the 60s generation divide, right down to the "fuck you dad you're lame and I'm cool" mentality. Nothing's actually changed and people want to think that this time they're the different ones.

Meh, Nixon parodies were very common in the 90s as well, even after his death in 1994.

You should have posted the episode where it was just a parody of Frank Sinatra's life but with Brain.

Still a great episode though, especially that song.

Still funny that a lot of Brain's plans in later seasons weren't even about taking over the world, but rather making lots of money to fund his work towards doing so.

oh absolutely. The Beatles 1962-66 / 67-70 were the first actual CDs our family had.
I listened to that first CD a shit ton, I knew like all those songs.

I kind of hate how the idea of a family movie or show just doesn't exist anymore. Something kids and adults can both enjoy. They still use the term "family movie/show" but it's just shorthand for "just for kids" now.

20/30 years from now cartoons are going to have Taylor Swift parodies, Bad Bunny parodies, Weeknd parodies, Drake parodies, BTS parodies, etc.

>Not suitable for pinkos, bleeding heart liberals, or the media elite
>>
>>151037815
To be fair, making fun of a fat guy who's out of shape is in good fun because you don't expect them to kill over and have a heart attack.
That being said it didn't really stop people from laughing at a guy ODing on the toliet either
>>
>>151037037
OP, you know parents usually show the things they like to their kids, right?
>>
>>151037669
As a kid I loved Elvis jokes. All I knew was that he sounded funny, a singer past his prime, and fat.
>>
>>151037037
I was a kid when that episode aired and I laughed a lot with non Yoko Ono
