It's enough that they have plant covered cities that sprout fruit on demand, but thematically these elements work since Dougie was one of the hardest hit having been with Krakoa since the beginning of Xavier's mad dream of nation building, learning the island's lingo. Becoming Revelation was him being driven by the loss. Forge is another who was hard hit and referenced as a key motivator in his last X Force run since he lamented never getting to build his self-sustaining cities with Krakoan plant tech. There's the mutant heaven made by Scarlet Witch which technically mutant souls could be recalled from and put back into cloned bodies with no need of Cerebro backups (when last scene during Storm trying to get Magneto the place was weirdly cleaned out except for Tarn, with the people waiting supposedly having moved on to the actual afterlife instead of waiting to come back, but it's still there). There's also still Krakoa now living in the White Hot Room complete with its own mutant civilization. They have fully functioning resurrection tech. As far as I know the place hasn't been destroyed yet, but it's only a matter of time the way comics are. Technically Doug could have tried to bring it all back if he really wanted to. I think they are just avoiding it because it's too soon to redo all that shit.
