What would have to happen for souls like those to be redeemed? Within the context of the show, I mean. Their flaws are too woven into their personality, their actions too severe. Charlie's "everyone can be redeemed" message is very christian-like in the sense that a character needs to want to change before they can start doing so, but there are obviously characters that the show won't have time to (and I don't think would be competent enough to even if they did) show a compelling redemption for. But even if it comes from their own unwillingness to change, it technically does mean that certain souls are, in fact, irredeemable, and the only souls we'll see redeemed are minor offenders like "was too scared to help a woman about to get murdered" or "I was a gangster fuckboy". The new pentious replacement scientist guy doesn't seem any less vanilla.All this to say that charlie's message is kind of a nothingburger unless the show took the time to show the redemption (and a good one at that) of a seemingly irredeemable character.
