Why does Steve Orlando keep getting work?
My impression is that Orlando wrote that Darkhold/Chthon story back when the comics were not pushing Wanda at all (only Zub seemed to want to use her) and when WandaVision unexpectedly turned Wanda into one of Marvel’s most popular characters he had become the comics’ resident Wanda guy purely by accident.Of course it’s no fun dealing with Wanda fans online, whether it’s the people who demand she be impossibly powerful or the ones who demand changes to any comic that makes her look white (both got their way, so now she’s way too powerful and usually has the wrong skin tone) to the army of MCU Wanda stans and the smaller but loud army of MCU Wanda haters. I can see why there probably isn’t a lot of competition to write her solo adventures.Personally I’d be happier to see them stop pretending she’s a solo character (same goes for a lot of other Avengers or X-Men characters) and give her some character development in Avengers, where she belongs.
