Honestly one of the most eye-opening things about the state of the industry was when that shitty Ren and Stimpy reboot was announced and there was this "#bettercartoon" trend going on where artists in the industry pitched their ideas to the public.Most of the ideas were either exactly like this, some variation of this, or shared themes from this. The rest was all stuff about emotions and characters crying and trauma and identity stuff being the only priority they focused on.I don't say this as a condemnation of all young artists out there, because there are plenty who are making cool cartoons and comics and doing things that aren't like this. It just seems that ALL of the people who want to be in the "LA Animation Industry" are all like this.
