What did you think of it?

>>151087720Apart from the otherwise ignorable not-a-princess-and-elect-myself-as-president shit, (obviously Jennifer Lee's retarded contribution), I fucking loved it.Initially I was slightly off-put by the apparent bait-and-switch brand characters being ditched at the start, but on re-watches I found their cameos the worst part,(even Felix's 'fashionably late' shoehorned Mario line is lame and annoying). So I subsequently agree with how that was handled. It was a great little story that hit all the traditional tried and true buttons. I understand while the main characters were originally written as and still based on Donkey Kong and Mario, they were rewritten into great original characters themselves, (which I understand Disney wanting to do). Seemed like a great start to Disney making their own 'Pixar' shit in-house before they bought Pixar. There are some genuinely funny, heartfelt, and action-packed moments in it. I kek'd so fucking hard when Felix hits the fungeon bars with his hammer:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B2r1OvJobMWhat a well-constructed scene in general. The only issue I did have is they 'kick the dog' so fucking hard at the start it makes everyone look like a fucking prick - including Felix. I suspect they gave Ralph halitosis, (which didn't really make much sense for a vidya character), just to try to fix that and give the other characters another justification not to want him around, (which creates a problem at the end when they no longer seem to notice without him explicitly doing anything about it). Once you get over that hump though it's literally off to the races.I thought the villain, Turbo reveal, then virus upgrade was a little weird and it weakened it a bit, but otherwise fine.I found the sequel extremely disappointing for obvious reasons, and it was the way it was for even more obvious reasons.
>>151087720Epic fail
>>151087720Disney's last good movie, it's incredible how fresh, unique and endearing this was compared to Frozen which immediately followed this
>>151088517>fresh>compared to Frozen
>>151088497I actually like how they handle Felix during the beginning, it's clear he's an decent guy who really doesn't hate Ralph but at the same time they clearly aren't friends either. It's a really realistic depiction of how a 'nice guy' can still act like a prick in certain cases.
>>151088517Zootopia was great too but other than those two Disney have only really had stinkers
>>151088523Frozen tries too hard. I have never seen a movie pat itself on the back so hard for being "not like all the others" while still falling back on all but one of every tried and true trope Disney has become to be known for.
>>151088530They were working overtime to still make Felix the nice guy, while making Ralph the underdog, but Jesus Christ they treat Ralph like such a piece of dogshit it tips over the knife edge they're riding to the point I just fucking hate them - along with Felix for not pushing back harder.I think it's like a hero should never cross the line that far. It would be like old skool Reeve Superman calling Eve Teschmacher a 'whore' and acting like he didn't want to catch a venereal disease off her or something. She is a stupid whore and he knows it, but he wouldn't actually visibly treat her like that - and it would just reflect badly on him.

>>151088547Not my point
I would wreck Vanellope.
>>151088597Then what was your point?
>>151088547It's biggest crime was tricking the audience by showing Prince Hans keeping up the act while none of the other characters could see him:https://youtu.be/Z5wIzJr33Ko?t=78That's not how that shit works. I've seen so much of that kind of fake 'le twist' shit creeping into entertainment these days. 'Muh subverted expectorations herp derp!'You could at least see there was still some remaining artists and animator talent behind the movies of that period before the Rainbow Reich totally took over and replaced all the 'pale stale males'.

>>151087720A great movie that NEVER GOT A SEQUEL.
>>151088660Oh yeah, I forgot the sequel didn't actually exist. My bad. Don't know what I was thinking.
>>151087720Wreck-It Ralph is peak CG Disney. It's all been downhill and nothing but generic nothingburgers ever since.
meanwhile the sequel:
>>151087720Great movie. The villain especially was fantastic and there was good attention to detail on a rewatch. The only things that disappoint me about it are some of the deleted scenes. Dunderson would have been a fun character, they would have solved the problem of feeling like Surgar Rush took up too much of the movie with the entire game they cut, and there were better jokes in Surgar Rush that probably got cut for being edgier. Some were upset it never got a sequel, but I think it told the story it needed to.
