>THE FALL OF ULTRAMAN, a one-shot by Kyle Higgins, Mat Groom, and Davide Tinto, arrives in February.>Marvel’s Ultraman saga reaches its finale this February with The Fall of Ultraman, a one-shot capping the five-year run from writers Kyle Higgins and Mat Groom with art by Davide Tinto (returning from Ultraman: The Mystery of Ultraseven).>Created in partnership with Tsuburaya Productions, Marvel’s Ultraman line began in 2020 with The Rise of Ultraman, then spun into The Trials of Ultraman, The Mystery of Ultraseven, and the crossover Ultraman X the Avengers. The closing chapter promises answers and consequences as Ultraman and the Ultra Guard confront a looming, cosmic endgame that may cost the world its greatest protector—while testing the United Science Patrol’s legacy one last time.>Groom notes the finale bears the same title the duo outlined in their earliest pitch, calling it a bittersweet send-off for Shin, Kiki, Dan, and the team. Higgins thanked Marvel, Tsuburaya, and the artists for helping bring a modern take on a timeless hero to Western readers—and credited Groom as his partner throughout.>Featuring a cover by Marvel Stormbreaker Netho Diaz, The Fall of Ultraman #1THE FALL OF ULTRAMAN #1Written by KYLE HIGGINS & MAT GROOMArt by DAVIDE TINTO Cover by NETHO DIAZOn Sale 2/11
Oh yeah, Marvel had the Ultraman licenseThe license holders must have been really restrictive with it because of the release schedule (compare it to Godzilla) and that they only had one crossover in the end
>>151087839could be cool
>>151087870And that crossover was announced 18 whole months before it came out
>>151087870>>151088886It's due to the long-running copyright dispute with UMC/Chaiyo, who recently used Chinese courts to snatch away the rights to using the original 6 Ultra brothers in advertising and media from Tsuburaya themselves
>>151089468How did that happen? Did Tsuburaya not keep up the trademark or something?
>>151089497It's because the Thais (UMC/Chaiyo) claim they created the concept of Ultraman first and then gave the Tsuburaya family the idea in a gentleman's agreement. TsuPro's current top brass consistently deny this claim in Japanese courts, which ironically resulted in the Jap courts siding with the Thais because TsuPro couldn't produce evidence refuting it
I just wanted to say Nexus is best ultra
