What's your least favorite episode of Golden Age Simpsons?
>>
>>151097580
The one where mr burns gets shot
>>
>>151097580
why would i even rank that
>>
thanks for making a third simpsons thread in a row
>>
If S1 is counted among Golden Age, then it has to be Moaning Lisa.
>>
>>151097580
Homer's Enemy, easily
Edgelord fedora-tier episode
>>
Whacking Day
>>
I always hated Marge Be Not Proud.
>>
>>151097580
Does the second clip show count?
>>
The one where homer lets himself get kicked out of his own house by marge because of a photo
Even as a kid it made me angry at that cunt

Season 40 Episode 5

INCEL-LULAR SERVICE

One night Marge is attacked by a mysterious assailant and thrown off Springfield Gorge. Upon waking up in the hospital in traction and unable to talk due to the bandages muffling her, she and Simpsons set out to find who did this to her. They find out that it was one of the guests at Eugene Fisk's bachelor party, who'd heard Marge kicked Homer out of the house for dancing with Princess Kashmir and then went underground, upset on Homer's behalf and vowing revenge. Now the Simpsons learn Princess Kashmir aka Shauna Tifton is the assailant's next target and have to stop him.

Don't use your faggy modern made up buzzwords to refer to old Simpsons.

>edgelord
>fedora-tier
Not even the biggest fan of this episode but fuck off with this shit.
>>
>>151097580
Bart the General if we allow Season 1 in that era
If not then Scenes from the Class Struggle in Springfield. Clip shows are too easy a target
>>
>>151102956
allowing season 1 is cheating. realistically everyone's least favorite would be a weird season 1 episode.
>>
>>151097693
we need an anti sneed meme. something that marks the dominance of simpsons posters.
>>
Season 1 had soul.

What seasons are considered "Golden Age"?

>>151102956
>>151103404
Season 1 wasn't great, but the first thing that came to mind was Bart the General, because of that gay, preachy ending.
>>
>>151097580
honestly I don't know, and now I want to re-watch simpsons
>>
>>151098715
same
also Milhouse was an extra asshole and spoiled brat in this episode
>>
>>151098715
It's got too many good bits for it to be the worst classic era episode
>"I Stink!"
>Bart's hot cocoa marshmallow
>Don Brodka's voicemail (funnier with you know the production story behind it)
>Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge
>THRILLHOU
>>
>>151102956
>>151103404
season 1 and 2 are my favourites
>>
The one where Burns runs for mayor and Marge sabotages his attempt with the mutated fish. I never liked the concept of shooting the breadwinner in the foot, Homer could have lost his job.
>>
>>151097580
Anything with Lisa as the focus.
>>
>>151104475
It's a good episode but the ending is so idiotic and unbelievable.
Marge has a woman moment that could ruin Homer's career because she doesn't like Mr Burns or his politics.
Burns would've been well within his rights to fire Homer for that. The ending relies on Burns acting like a moron rather than materially punishing them.
It's actually much worse than many later Lisa episodes where she gets political or 'socially conscious', I don't remember her ever doing anything on the level of jeopardising her Father's tenous job.
>>
The lowest point has to be Marge saying that if she had to choose between her God and husband, he'd never win. Fucking cultist. But that episode is still god tier.

The one where Lisa plays hockey is really bad. Mean-spirited to the max for no reason and not that funny. The one where Marge becomes a cop I can't remember much about either.
>>
>>151104475
I never had a problem with it. she wasn't risking their skin for some bullshit tertiary thing, the deciding moment was in her hands and she let it take her.
>>
>>151097580
homer jump gorge
>>
>>151097580
Golden Age Simpsons?
>>
>>151103495
3-9. 1 and 2 aren't anywhere close to the word "bad", but they're clearly a different style of show compared to seasons 3 through 9.
>>
the one where everyone copies bart that isn't the "i didn't do it episode" but is in the same season

the one where homer gives marriage advice at the community college, it's really boring

the one where lisa converted to budhissm killed the series
>>
>>151106350
>the one where lisa converted to budhissm
Is this the beginning of insufferable Lisa?
>>
>>151106635
Thats the vegetarian episode, which is saved by the rest of the episode being really funny
>>
>>151106785
Wasn't it some Beatles faggot that insisted she be vegetarian or some shit?
>>
>>151106802
Paul McCartney made her be a vegetarian and some nobody guest star insisted she be a Buddhist
>>
>>151106816
If only he really died and got replaced.
>>
>>151106825
How do you know he wasn't?
>>
>>151106327
>>Season 9
>The Simpsons are going to New York City!
>Armin Tamzarian
>Lisa's Pity Party
>homer get gun
>Joe Namath
>Miracle on Evergreen Terrace
>The 4th Clipshow
>Simpson Gene
8 episodes that are just plain awful.
>Lisa the Skeptic
>Bart Carny
>CANYONEROOOOOOOO
>Trash of the Titans (200th episode)
and a further 4 which are fairly mediocre, making for a total of 12/25 not-good episodes from this supposed "golden age" season, and easy pickings for this thread. No, it may be part of the Classic era, but the Golden Age spans from seasons 3-8, arguably including 2 for being more like 3 than 1.
>>
>>151106350
>the one where everyone copies bart that isn't the "i didn't do it episode" but is in the same season
WE LIKE ROY WE LIKE ROY
>the one where homer gives marriage advice at the community college, it's really boring
Understandable
>the one where lisa converted to budhissm killed the series
Season 13, long past the Golden Age
>>
probably Stark Raving Dad
>>
>>151107203
i wouldn't say it's long past the golden age, you need season 12 for simpson safari and skinners sense of snow
season 13's only good episode is the treehouse of horror
>>
>>151107448
You're thinking of the Classic Era, which contains but is not entirely composed of the Golden Age.
>>
>>151107566
I would 100% say seasons 1-10 are the golden/classic age, but 11 & 12 are in a weird border territory where there's like 15 essential episodes between them
>>
For Me its
"Bart vs. Thanksgiving"
"Lisa's Pony"
"Lady Bouvier's Lover"
"Brother from the Same Planet"
>>
>>151098715
That one's my favorite
>>
>>151107654
I'm of the belief you could end the show at Behind the Laughter, though that's a pretty ice cold take by now.

Well you think that because you think 9 & 10 are Golden but they're Silver, and the Silver Age extends past the Classic Era.

either the one where homer goes to college and yells "NERD" at one point or one of the episodes where the dog is acting up and making everyone's lives miserable

I'm sorry but I can't take anyone seriously who doesn't include
New York City vs Homer Simpson
The Cartridge Family
Lisa the Skeptic
Miracle on Evergreen Terrace
Bart Carny
The Joy of Sect
Das Bus
The Last Temptation of Krust
This Little Wiggy
The Trouble with Trillions
Girly Edition
Trash of the Titans
Treehouse of Horror VIII
Lard of the Dance
The Wizard of Evergreen Terrace
Treehouse of Horror IX
When You Dish Upon a Star
D'oh-in' in the Wind
Mayored to the Mob
Sunday, Cruddy Sunday
Homer to the Max
Maximum Homerdrive
Mom and Pop Art
Monty Can't Buy Me Love
Thirty Minutes over Tokyo
And lets be for real, the Principal and the Pauper is a good episode it has tons of funny moments
In their definition of golden Simpsons
>>
>>151107938
There are plenty of golden episodes in the Silver Age, it's simply indicative of a general drop in quality, wherein about half the episodes you listed are only B-Tier, like Sunday Cruddy Sunday.
>>
Never overly loved Life in the Fast Lane.
>>
>>151104788
>The one where Lisa plays hockey is really bad. Mean-spirited to the max for no reason and
Mike Scully is a very good reason though.
>>
Home Sweet Home Dum Diddly
>>
>>151107171
Come on, Bart Star isn't that bad.
>>
>>151107732
it's a pretty Reddit take
>>
>>151108633
I don't remember the episode that much, but it's one of the earlier "guest star shoved in" ones.
>>
>>151106271
I think so, yeah.

I'm assuming we're just discounting clip shows. For me it's actually the one where Homer and Grandpa Abe try to sell his sex elixir. For some reason that episode just doesn't land any hits for me, it's unusually boring. Even episodes that are regularly cited as lows like Lisa the Vegetarian and Marge Be Not Proud at least still have some memorable jokes in them, it's the only golden age Simpsons episode that actually does nothing for me.
>>
>>151112690
>the one where Homer and Grandpa Abe try to sell his sex
I did a double take because I read that as Homer and grandpa Abe try to have sex.
>>
>>151112944
Yeah me too, for a moment there I couldn't believe it either. That was a great episode!
>>
>>151107938
Nah. Season 9 perfectly defines the first significant drop in quality since the show started. All of those episodes are the kind that I'll watch if they're on, but I'd never intentionally seek them out, and they only really look good if you judge them against what came after.
>>
>>151111014
Season XXIV
>>
>>151097580
Dancin' Homer. Aside from hearing Bleeding Gums Murphy sing The Star-Spangled Banner (with Daryl L. Coley filling in for Ron Taylor) and a rare moment of Burns and Homer getting along during a ball game, there's not too much to write home about.
>>
Idk if I’m remembering the title correctly but “my Sister My Sitter” was always really weak to me as a golden age Simpsons episode outside of the first two seasons. Weird Lisa torture porn episode that doesn’t even really try to be funny.
>>
>Home Sweet Homediddly-Dum-Doodily
I just hate it when entire plots are built on a single misunderstanding. Also Flanders was a massive faggot that episode
>>
>>151103416
This attitude is why you got Sneeded in the first place. If you wanna discuss a dead show ad nauseam with nothing new to talk about, go to Reddit.

The Scully years are sloppily written and at times downright stupid but despite this, I still laugh. I prefer seasons 9 and 10 over 11 and 12 but honestly all his seasons have their highs and lows. It only went truly to shit when Al Jean took over in season 13. It's wild how quick the show just stops being funny after 9/11.
