Like Amy and Kip have children that they release in a pond in an episode in 2003. At the end of the episode they say "we'll come back in 20 years for them to develop". Well 20 REAL LIFE years passed so one of the modern episodes has them going back to pick up their children. It's actually kind of neat that they treat things as if time is passing for the main characters as it does for us, except that the existence of characters like Cubert (pic-related) or Herme's young son completely fucks this up because like Bart and Lisa they don't age and are forever kids.
