>left shows that there is life after death
>right shows that after death there’s nothing, that’s it
Which do you prefer?

For me, its gotta be the "everyone would be better off if you were never born" episode. Brutal as hell to air this to kids.

I prefer the idea of having nothing after death. means each one of our actions are that much more meaningful. I get why people want to live forever, dying is scary, but that in the end is just your chemicals inside your brain and everything else trying to keep you alive, life tries to continue itself, is quite the fascinating chemical reaction but nothing more than that, we are just somewhat aware of it.

And being aware allow us to go against simple pre programmed instincts. We can seek more meaning behind life itself over than just propagating it or fearing it's end. I live my life knowing there will be nothing afterwards, I pray not seeking forgiveness or for what I desire, but being thankful for what I have and experience. And when I die I hope it's in vivace, pridefully with my head held high. but if I don't and I cower I also understand.

I just hope things get a bit better. My life is probably bellow average all things considered. I just try to focus on the good things.

reincarnation splits the difference and really makes the most sense when you get to the deeper layers of philosophy

Nothing after death is heretical betrayal of the Holy Bible and Christ's message to us, amd the notion should be kept away from children

Did they really imply their is nothing after death in i am weasel? And i prefer left i genuinely like that episode
>>151101167
I saw this episode at a very delicate moment in my life where my parents were always fighting and i didnt have many friends so i took the plot of this episode to heart and it really angered and depressed me. Im not one to usually moral grandstand on kids tv but it was a really fucked up plot. Its one of the few TV episodes that negatively affected my life
>>151101258
Their better be something better after death. Life is so fucking garbage and this is the worst time period in modern history to exist in so i feel nothing but resentment against reality for being alive at all so im entitled to some reparations after i die like getting to fuck hot ghost girls or sexy demon women or something
>>151102951
Reincarnation is worse then hell. There is literally nothing worse then coming back to this shithole while being memory wiped and having your personality rewritten into someone you could possibly hate. Fuck the buddhists for making that shit up
>>
>>151102972
The bibles bullshit and jesus was a charlatan fraud, even if i agree their is something after death doesnt mean its going to be christian malarky
>>
I remember the exact moment I stopped believing in God, almost eleven years ago. I have had zero belief in an afterlife since, and very much didn't want one. I wanted life to end, and end properly. Anything but oblivion would be hell.

But I feel like I've slowly gone from wanting to kill myself, to wanting to die, to not caring if I was dead, to not giving a shit.

Death of the Endless is my favorite fictional character. She's so sweet. She really feels like she was written out of suicidal ideation. I've gotten to the point where I wouldn't mind whatever afterlife she would take me to of she were real.

Reincarnation ends when you achieve enlightenment. Earth is hell and the goal is to escape it.

Reincarnation strikes me as indistinguishable from a completely different person being born, if you do not retain your memory or personality. What is even being transferred in that case? What's left of whatever you think the "soul" is?

And thats fucking wrong and bullshit. Their idea of "heaven" is some pleasureless and identity-less void. People should not be damned in this earthly shit hole any longer after they expire. Buddhism is almost as awful as christianity, theyre both about as stupid dogma wise its just buddhists are less toxic as people then christians are even if their beliefs are utterly fucked up

>If you chose the wrong religion you probably get punished, which is highly likely because there are a ton of religions
>If all religions are wrong you get nothing
>There might just be a generic place you're all sent to anyway
Why even bother worrying about death? It'll happen and then you'll find out. Naturally you'll want to preserve your life when you can, that's basic instinct and there's nothing wrong with that, like you should still pay attention when driving and all that, but it seems like a dumb thing to worry about as a concept overall. You'll find out when you're dead, even if "finding out" is the total obliteration of your consciousness. Just chill man, shit.

I personally believe an afterlife could only exist if humans live long enough to create advanced technology to bring people back through some weird new physics we have discovered. This is the only thing I could psychologically accept.

I dunno what OP is on, this is the end of that episode.
>>
>>151101167
I take from that episode that despite everything, even if your existence makes things worse, you have as much right to live as everyone else.
I guess i'm looking at the silver lining of an otherwise sad episode, but i still like to think that way about it.
>>
>>151105726
Exactly, that’s the end of the banana’s existence. He doesn’t go to heaven like Rocko’s appendix, only to Weasel’s and Baboon’s stomach. That’s it.
>>
>>151102927
I disagree, it's shallow and egocentric to reject any greater purpose than immediate material reality
>>
>>151105757
>you have as much right to live as everyone else
Especially since no one can control being born in the first place, or what environment they will be raised in.

I mean if we're running by the numbers yes that has to be true.
Everything tries to encapsulate all of time and creation in their myths so they're mutually exclusive even if they have a number of recurring beats (flood myths for example)
So yeah there's probably One Truth out there somewhere but the only hope is that what you live somehow falls in the parameters of a not terrible person in that faith so you don't get a damnation for not going to the right house once a week.
>>
>>151106516
The whole going to hell for not following the right religion is bogus and not real
>>
>>151103074
something something "the oneness of all things" but you can have that without reincarnation so it really does feel like window dressing, or a copout excuse to try and get people to care about eachother by saying "that guy who cut you off could've been your loving great-grandmother in a past life, don't rear end him"
>>
>>151104418
>>There might just be a generic place you're all sent to anyway
This is my belief system. I figure the Afterworld is just another plane of existence where the immortal soul simply persists, and they have their own cities and literature, only a fraction of which is the attempt to reproduce that which exists in our world. Maybe they even have technologies which allow them to interact with our world again, but not in an overt manner. Maybe someday existence of something beyond this life will come when they make the breakthrough, not us.
