CBS clerk convinced me to pick up the first TPB a couple days ago because they had no absolute batman 1/ultimate spiderman 2. and after 2 issues I'm not really seeing the point. I'm not really a WW fan, or understand any of the subverted tropes going on, but it didn't seem that interesting. Absolute batman was able to get me on board with 1 issue but I don't care to finish another of AWW. Whole first issue was fighting bugs and a seemingly normal backstory flashback. I feel like an idiot for expecting to understand AWW when i don't read WW, but whats the point of a new-reader friendly line when you still need tons of context to understand whats different about it? is this going to get any better?

She's always going to be that lump of clay that was formed into a child by Hippolyta so she will still be infused with the properties of that magic granted by the gods. Darkseid would have needed to have alter the entire pantheon to truly interfere with her origins which brings the risk of her not being born to begin with.
