Is there anything better than the Archie universe? It ranges from goofy and harmless to zombie bloodbath. I love it.
This was an excellent thread, OP, thank you.
Good thread
Are any of these real?
How much longer does Archie have now that they are canceling all their digests?
>>151118322since we are talking about fictional art: define "real"
>>151118385Things published by Archie Comic Publications, Inc and not fan work, edits or parody
I used to have a lot of archie comics when I was a kid. Not sure where most of them all are at this point. My mom had a funny habit of throwing out things during moves if she thought it wasn't being used. So its quite possible they all ended up in the trash years ago.
>>151117230Up to the early 90s? Very few things in american comics. After that, meh.Last 20 years have been a particular decline
This one's a stretch but it amused me enough to save it.
Has there ever been a time when Jughead had something for a girl?
>>151117278Which issue is this from?
>>151119034A few times, usually for a gag/punchline
>>151119404This is assault
>>151118455picrel is from “Plane Crazy” (from Life with Archie #37, May 1965)
>>151117630As much as the modern archie girls are drawn "better", the way they're drawn in the super old strips is very cute
>>151118322A lot of the images ITT are real but out of context, a few are edits but usually the edits are pretty obvious
>>151119034He was dating 2 girls at the same time at one point - J.J and Debbie. 3 if you count Ethel as well.
I swear, any lewder, and Archie could compete with manga.
>>151119578Nah, Archie artwork was never better than it was in the 50s and 60s. Bob Montana, Harry Lucey (pictured), and Dan DeCarlo (who created the “house style” used to this day).
>>151119681Is Betty canonically bustier than Ronnie?
>>151119851Who knows?
>>151119851They have the exact same face and body. It’s kind of key to the triangle that nothing sets them apart except hair color and personality (and money, but Archie is never portrayed as caring about Veronica’s money and sometimes it’s a turn-off, since Veronica has expensive tastes and dating her costs more).
>thread subject identified: Archie comics>commence image dump>beep boopIs this just going to be every fucking thread from now on?
>>151118536Rollin'
>>151119034He gets with Midge in that What If story when Archie either married Betty or Veronica.
>>151117230Archie was the first comic I read on a regular basis. So it has a special place in my heart
>>151119851Strictly speaking, they're supposed to be identical except for the hair. I remember reading somewhere that one of the artists usually drew Betty with a slightly higher waist so she'd be slightly more lanky than Veronica.
I actually had plans to do a storytime of a bunch of Halloween/costume themed Archie comics; I had them all picked out and everything but wound up being busy all weekend.
>>151119851Now all we need are Betty's measurements.
>>151117230I'm not feeling Veronica with short hair.
I don't understand Archie's problem. More often than not Veronica is being a huge bitch and hooking up with other guys. How does he continue to fall for any of her bullshit?
>>151123266Veronica is more difficult to get than Betty which makes her more desirable to Archie. The forbidden fruit principle.
>>151117230No
>>151117230>Is there anything better than the Archie universe?Yes, most everything else.
>>151118536no josie and the pussycats but i'll roll anyway
>>151121510The sequel to this story was hilarious
>>151128958I like this style. Harry Lucey?
>>151117358what was next panel gag???
>>151117667Something Emma Frost might say.
>>151130088Bob Montana
Bumping for B&V
>>151117313Fran The Fan's kind of underrated, and a lot of missed r34 groupie joke opportunities. Like you just know she's got a collection of plaster penis casts.
>>151117230That's how I feel about Jaime's Love and Rockets. Aimless relationship drama, Mexican wrestling, supernatural horror, gangland drama, road adventure, neo-noir, etc.
>>151135262Superheroes too.
>>151117230From the thumbnail it seemed like he had twisted his neck completely, is not that bad on a closer look, but still a bit over the edge.
>>151123266The whole bit is that obviously Betty would be the better match, but Veronica's self confidence and money is why Archie foolishly falls for her. It's a comedy, and actually slightly cynical in that way
