What's the general /co/nsensus?
>>151126759The best comic strip ever.
>>151126759It's great, there's some schizo that's mad he can't suck off an official Hobbes plushie but his opinion doesn't matter and doesn't actually reflect anything in the comic itself.
>>151126773calm down
>>151126845Great, there's ANOTHER schizo in the C&H threads?
Extremely entertaining, found a way to ope peoples' minds to the wider world without getting overly political in one direction or the other, and an artstyle that was both simple and complex depending on the action of the strip. It might not have lasted for decades like many other strips, but that's probably one of the reasons it'll be remembered long after Watterson's passing, because he made the comic on his time and left when he felt he had said all that he could.
>>151126759It was the best newspaper comic. I admire Bill Watterson for being content with only making the comic with no spinoff media or merchandise, and that he never sold out
>>151126759It is still relevant. Which says more about us than it. The humor is based on complaining and uses big words so it is made for loser nerds.
The comic turns 40. There's surprisingly little talk about it, considering the massive blowout Peanuts is getting for its 75th.

>>151126759Excluding the Spaceman Spiff/PI stories, most strips were the same.
>>151128669No
>>151127315But he's right.
>>151128633>>151128644I'm sure there'll be a thread or two when the time comes. Too bad we probably won't see much from Watterson beyond maybe a tweet commemorating the day he debuted his strip.
