Then I can only assume the fanbase and new artists started seeing her as a tranny icon since they made her look less attractive and more like a man as the series went on. Not even those mtf trannies that try to pass but the ones that go around with facial hair but identify as women.Which come to think of it makes even less sense even when putting Steven into the equation since Stevonnie was getting facial hair at a time Steven was still a little boy that wouldn't be getting five o'clock shadows.This type of crap is also why we probably never got a Peridot fusion since asexuals related to her and the show treats fusion as sex.

Steven doesn't normally grow facial hair because his appearance is based on his mental state, he had a full episode about only growing his first hair after recognizing himself as more grown up after his birthday. So either being 3/4th human for that long gives him hair growth closer to a normal human, or more likely their beard started growing because he was feeling the weight of all the days and days they'd been stuck there and recognizes that growing a beard is something that happens to people on TV who get stranded places.

Being attractive was part of the original intent of the character even from the writing.Not even the only fusion to do this since the Greg/Steven fusion is also meant to be sexualized and get Pearl all wet and horny. Imagine if that fusion returned and ended up drawn more ugly over time.
