Sam Mendes is a bad choice. His James Bond movies were dour and lifeless, especially in comparison with Casino Royale and even Quantum of Solace, however flawed it was.

Triumph & Torment would’ve been great and it could’ve been an excellent building ground for Doctor Doom to lead into Doomsday and Secret Wars. That’s too smart of an idea for Marvel Studios, though.
