So putting all the external drama to the outside was there anything decent in the BND era? Like if we can completely divorce ourselves from the bullshit change. No pun intended.

Brand New Day does not get even remotely good until the gauntlet and Slott takes over right after
>>
>>151327080
Look for reasons I can explain I never read marvel

If you make a new one I will read it like am a new reader

It brought back Harry.
>>
>>151327156
That's debatable. The Gauntlet started what, midway? There were still extremely ass decisions between that and when Slott went solo, like Peter doctoring a photo to save JJJ or utter shit like Shed or Grim Hunt.
>>
>>151327300
>Grim Hunt.
oh yeah, that was a thing. Somehow forgot about that. Poor Maddie.
>>
>>151327080
I liked that they brought back thought balloons. If you’re going to go nostalgic you might as well bring back something good.
>>
>>151327300
>The whole point of OMD was that they were trying to put Peter back into his college status quo
>Do a story where Peter is permanently banned from being a Bugle photographer which largely stops him from interacting with that cast
What the fuck were they thinking?

I liked that Betty issue Waid did
>>
>>151328467
Man Betty would have been a solid come back romance.
>>
>>151327080
i sometimes wonder if BND would have been better recieved if it was a full on reboot instead of a status quo reset
>>
>>151327080
I liked the Shocker and Anti-Venom issues.
>>

I forgot how to play checkers... :(

>BND
>remember that time MJ wanted to fuck Peter but SpOck told her off so she went out to fuck some random guy to prove she's still got it
What an awful time
>>
>>151327080
definitely Peter and Felicia.
>>
>>151329529
I mean I remember a big complaint early on is that shit was just confusing. It was vague on what still counted.

Black Cat is a Crutch
>>

Nothing! They’re retarded!
>>
>>151328467
Goddamn. They definitly fucked here. My head cannon says. so.
>>
>>151331802
Checkers really gets girls going
>>
>>151331037
That falls under the Slott run rather than BND, but you're right, that's still shit
>>
>>151333085
Slotts run was weird. There were some parts of it I did like but it was mostly just bland with occasional moments of aggravation.
>>
>>151327177
It's so weird that they bought him back and never did a story where he found out and helped Spider-man. It feels like a no-braimer but instead they're doing it with Norman?

It pisses me off too that they killed him off but in such a stupid way and with such a dumb retcon that they can't even use his death for angst or character motivation like they did the last time. It rendered it all so pointless.

It always stinks when a character has a good death and send off, they undo it and then just repeat it worse. Best of Enemies was fantastic.

I get the impression Slotto didn't care for Harry's death being undone, but at least had the decency to just write him out of the book for most of his run, while Spencer probably thought he was "fixing" things by retconning him into a clone and killing him, and not even explaining who made the clone.

Though Slott did retcon that Norman always knew Harry was alive and was just pretending to be mad at Peter over Harry's death, which is absolutely retarded, even for Slott.

At least we got the two American Son arcs while Harry was back.

>Felicia being character regressed and doesn't know Peter is Spider-Man
That wasn't decent. The only saving grace this has is that it wasn't as bad as Slott's take on her during Superior/post-Superior. What the hell were Slott and Lowe thinking?
>>
>>151333748
Felicia is pretty much done with her character development which naturally ends with her as a hero fighting alongside Peter in some capacity but because of the nature of long running comics they need to reset her through any means no matter how silly it is
Remember she was done as Cat and wanted to retire
>>
>>151333866
It still stinks because she was genuinely a heroic figure by that point.
>>
>>151333866
What >>151333890 said. BND is often times the most shallow flanderization of what a Spider-Man comic should be
>>
>>151331037
Like Spock from start trek? When was this? Did she fuck captain kirk.
>>
>>151334020
not Spock, SPOK. Superior Spider-man. Dock Ock overrides his mind into Spider-man's body. Hence SPOCK. It was a shit series that retards like to meme up as Slot's opus but really it was just a year long shit show of Slott pushing his fetish.
>>
>>151334062
>Every single issue hypes up someone noticing it’s not Peter
>Straight up kills people
>Everyone shrugs and goes ‘damn about time’ and that’s it
>Tony thought something was up and decided to not care
>>
>>151334062
Was this the fire fighter she fucked or was that something else
>>
>>151333890
The stupid Evil Black Cat era has the one redeeming feature of basically canonizing the fan theory that the more cleavage Felicia exposes, the more heroic she is.
>>
>>151334103
I'm honestly glad to see more people on Twitter pointing out how badly everyone's intelligence dropped during Superior. At least this time they aren't suppressed by Slott's sockpuppet accounts and Marvel's shills trying to convince people that Superior was good writing
>>
>>151334103
My favorite is when he threatened to sue Rachel Summers from reading his mind and it worked.
>>
>>151334133
Still see a lot of retards on /omnibuscollectors try to upsell this crap, but I blame myself for continuing to go there.
>>
>>151334623
I'm almost convinced there's some shilling going on there because Marvel seems to rely on omnibus sales in the bookstore market. It's what gives them dollar share advantage despite their books not selling enough copies to make the Top 750
>>
>>151333543
Ned Leeds would be a better stand in Spidey than Norman. And Harry should never of been brought back to begin with.
>>
>>151334671
Given the general level of discussion that often amount to little more than people saying GET THIS OR GET THAT or showing new books I wouldn't be shocked if the whole thing is a giant scam.
>>
>>151334694
If they're gonna use Ben as Peter anyways why not just have him act as spidey too.
>>
>>151335277
He wanted his life not to carry his curse
>>
>>151333677
I agree. Yes it sucks when an impactful and well done death is undone, but it fucking sucks even more when some idiot's solution to "fix" this crime is to just kill them off again but worse. Now instead of having a dead character with a good story or an alive character with a shit story, we have a dead character with a shit story and literally nothing is gained by this
>>
>>151336235
Yeah. Reviving and undoing the good death sucks, but it's like okay we have a toy on the field now, maybe we can do something with it.
>>
>>151333718
Even if Kindred got totally derailed in the last half, it wasn't a good sign that Harry was completely absent before then. Wouldn't that be the time to do even a short arc where "Harry" found out about Peter being Spider-man and accepted it, making it more of a gut punch when the Kindred reveals kicked in? Normie appeared earlier in the run but Harry's last appearance was in a motion web-comic.

Hell it's weird that despite apparently setting out to clean out Harry's BND return, the run just ignores Stanley Osborn and Emily. So now there's a clone's kid whose parentage no one talks about, and Emily Osborn is just still out there. Do any of them even know that guy was a clone?

>At least we got the two American Son arcs while Harry was back.
It's noticeable that Kelly only briefly skims over the Norman-Harry relationship, despite writing American Son. How do you even address it when no one can even explain it.
>>
>>151327080
No
>>
>>151337502
how succinct

>>151328459
Its for synergy... with a time in Spiderman life that no one under the age of 50 grew up with or wanted to see again.
