Why did Skottie give up on the story?
>>151327127Probably the same thing with most people that find themselves having to keep working on the same project they'd rather move on from but can't because it's the most popular thing they got going.
>>151327127I like it more as a episodic style comic, i just like seeing Gertrude getting hurt and fucking up shitI think it would be better if he just stated these adventures happened in-between her entering and leaving Fairyland for the first time instead of the convoluted "Multiversu" stuff, but whatever, it's still thr status quo
>>151327127I think he lost interest after Adult Gert returned to Fairyland (IIRC pic was shortly after the revival started), and probably keeps the series afloat to do wacky stuff to vent while doing variant covers and writing/drawing stuff he is actually interested about.I hope his Lobo run is good (I don't know that much about Lobo but Skottie has said that he wanted to write the character for a long time).
>>151327127>>151327437The Popeye crossover was alright.I wouldn't say he has given up but I would say he is aware that half his readers are horny for Gertrude and he was never super comfortable with that.
>>151327517It's his fault that even if she is supposed to be ugly as an adult in-universe his artwork makes her attractive (pic is fanart but my point still stands).
>>151327574Adult Gert is peak wife material
>>151327517thats uber retarded because he killed legal Gert to go back to lolibaba Gert.
>>151328644He doesn't want people lusting after Gert, no matter the version. The occasional big titty version is a joke.
>>151329295He made an entire issue where Gert was naked for the whole thing!
>>151329295welp it ain't workingi am gonna jork my gork to his precios gort.and drow some lood... uhh goh
>>151327127I think he just got bored with it. When he started, he probably had an idea about how it was going to be this epic journey and it was going to have a ton of continuity and people were going to grow as characters, and then the moment he hits Fairyland, he realized that he just much prefers to write parodies and pop-culture references, like in the original, so that's what he returned to.
>>151327127What story? The book has always existed to be edgy shlock. It was never going to be any more than that.
>>151327127>no adult Gert>no read
>>151327127Lol I dunno
>>151327238Skottie could have made episodic stories with Adult Gert while doing the occasional continuity issue (The Hollywood parody issue would have worked better IMO if Adult Gert was frustrated she could not be involved in the movie's production, not even as a stunt double, and imply she is jealous her "character" has a bigger chest), and it makes even less sense that he killed her to return to only episodic plots because after nuGert took over the series there were still continuing the story (Reuniting with Duncan, Cloudia, the Gertlings, Happy End Game, that recent issue with the Shroom warrior).
