She's often a foil for Homer or Bart so she's more right than wrong, but Lisa centric episodes often show her as petty and superficial. Lisa gets worse as the show goes on because everything gets worse as the show goes on.

The "socially conscious" self righteous type were not something you needed to predict by the time the Simpsons was airing, they already existed in full force.I always preferred that scene in Fritz the Cat where all the college girls are bugging the random crow and trying to one up each other with ridiculous platitudes.
