It is very easy to see if someone complaining has actually read something or not and most of the time they are playing a game of chinese whispers.Culture now is very all or nothing, best thing ever or worst thing ever. This comes with expectation and hype attached. Expectation is the thief of joy. Comics compared to many other mediums just feel meh. Bad bang for your buck, decompressed, all that stuff. And all the industry and creative issues are numerous and entrenched, it is far more complicated than people make out.Ultimately though you should just read what you want, have an open mind and try some different things from time to time. The complainers can just suck your soul out.
