i always thought it was weird that they said that but never referenced it before or since. like, its a fairly significant thing. then again, so is an organ transplant and he gets one in the same episode.

They first thought of moving him away in that season and having another boy take up his spot. Even had a newsbit that hid it was Kyle they were considering moving, just saying "one of the boys".
Season 5 was when they thought of actually killing him and putting Butters in his spot, but decided to kill off "the prop" Kenny instead.
