Netflix is probably full of people who think "If you kill your enemies, they win" is a profound statement. Do you really think they'd ever be capable of properly handling a character as ruthlessly utilitarian as the Punisher? Ennis was the perfect fit for him because Ennis is a ruthless old bastard too.
