This might be the de-escalation of stakes and return to status quo that makes me drop the comic until someone tells me it ended and I can read it in one go. I genuinely thought something was going to happen and that the story would actually change in some way, but I've had my hopes dashed yet again.This page itself is nonsense. "The court" has always been a vague entity but since the distortion whoever they are have completely removed themselves from daily events. Everyone we know about are just fending for themselves, right? Didn't we just see a huge crowd of people gather in the aftermath of the murder? If daily life in the distortion is just basic directionless subsistence, there is absolutely no reason *all* of Annie's friends shouldn't be helping her. People may not care about Omega, but they care about THE OTHER TARGET KAT. There is a literal teleporting murder coven hiding in their community who wants to kill their friend (and daughter!), yet Tom invents a flimsy handwave for all of them to ignore it and make the main cast handle it completely by themselves. I get that you want the story to focus on the heroes, but he's written himself into a corner and the excuses to avoid outside intervention break my suspension of disbelief.
