>>
>>151348888
Absolute feels like it's actually planned out, the last month or so of the Ultimate books has felt like everyone is rushing to meet a deadline
>>
>>151347271
I hope Maker will instakill all ultimates just for lulz and put all those freedom loving nigerinos, poor and ugly people in their rightful place.
But sadly that's not happening. Maker probably will try to destroy this world as failed experiment. Of course ultimates will beat him with power of friendship, justice and america (gay one).
>>
>>151347416
This was a good comic for the first couple of issues, but ever since about #4 or #6 most issues have just felt more like summaries instead of actual stories. We're told the things that happen, but rarely do we see the characters making their choices, acting, or dealing with the consequences. Every issue is over so quick and then of course there has to be the month long time skip in between that and the next one. Such a damn waste.
>>151347412
At least it's not as bad as the post-election Asgard issue, which was entirely splash pages filled with bad faux-Shakespearean nonsense about rising up.
>>
>>151348846
This isn't good at all.
>>
>>151348427
>Is there an unofficial ranking?
I feel like for the lower end, yes. Most people will agree that Wolverine is the worst and Black Panther is second worst, though it did pick up (far too late, but it's better than nothing). Between Ultimates, Spider-Man, and X-Men, it's really a toss-up. My personal list is probably
Spider-Man > Ultimates > X-Men > BP > Wolverine
but you'll find people who swear by X-Men instead. Plus a book like Ultimates running a consistent one-and-done formula makes it very fluctuating in quality from month to month.
Also there's that Miles book but it got memory-holed so hard I had to type it after finishing the captcha because I forgot about it. I didn't even read the ending, so I don't know what happened there.
>>
>>151347307
Nice for Camp to reference Spider-man.
>>
>>151348940
Hickman wasn't even aware that Ultimate would end like that lmao.
>>
>>151349135
Honestly it would be neat if they actually had the balls to just have them lose to the Maker
>>
>>151349191
I honestly think X-Men is way worse than anyone will ever admit it is, I genuinely think it's completely carried by Peach's artwork
>>
>>151350223
I think it started decently strong. It had a hook, it had a lot of fun things it could've done with its premise, the team building was fun enough, but then it stalled so hard in the middle right when shit should've been ramping up that the book never really recovered. I think it'll end decently strong enough, but the wasteland that was basically the middle chunk of this run really drags it down. If it weren't for the art, I have a feeling that opinions would definitely be shifted closer to BP. It kinda mirrors it.
>>
>>151348890
Constantly expanding the team was a bigger mistake imo.

>>
>>151347397
Thanks for the dump. The pacing gimmick continues to weigh this down as it goes on. I guess the developments here are a decent answer to the question I had before of how the hell they're going to turn the tides with so little time left. The previous issue focusing on the random civilian makes more sense now. Everyone piling up resistance big and small spread out everywhere grinds the machine to a halt. Decent answer but I can't help but feel the time gimmick has made the last stretch too exposition focused especially with the bigger cast. Maybe the general pacing will improve now that time has run out.

>>
>>151355199
Your impression and definition of them is highly skewed, you're looking at deeper extremes to get to that position.
>>
>>151355077
The left has been starch defenders of the status quo and pushing the illusion of change via woke politics, which is the ultimate cockblock towards ACTUAL change, because actual change would mean ending the neo liberal status quo that keeps the left in power.

It's why Trump is so reviled by the left because he point blank calls out how they are responsible for the horrors of the modern world and actually trying to change shit.

And on the flip side, you have actual communists, DSA Socialists, BLM, anarchists, and the modern KKK aka Antifa. The left humors them and co-opts their leaders but will never give them power outside of the ability to harm/kill conservatives and other "acceptable targets" because they see them as nothing more than brown shirt thugs to enforce the status quo of the left. Which creates problems as you see in NYC, where the Democrats became so reliant on these groups for low end support, that they've started to get SA tier delusions of grandeur that they should run the party and have their mad commie ideas made into reality, regardless if they won't work or would cut into the money being made by the Democrat elites.

>>
I hate how the new Ultimate has no sense of humor and is all about plot. The most annoying thing during Hickman's takeover was that he just kept killing characters and writing those boring stories. Still, he had a sense of humor about it and had some gems. Like Reed Richard Ultimate, who is the best version of the character. So far, I only like Peach Momoko's art, which didn't bring anything new to the table. It's crazy how it makes me like manga less.
>>
This entire universe has been a mistake, some miserable fart sniffing slop about a bunch of retards beating around the bush thinking people want to hear superheros give pep talks instead of actual fighting. The little fights they do have need to be rushed because some retard thought it was a good idea to do that real time shit, so everything has to be a flashback or a single text bubble.
>>
>>151355578
Why do you want a lot of comedy in a super hero book? There are other comics for that
>>
>>151355698
>comedy
He didn't say that, retard
Everyone is talking about what they've done or what they'll do, even the shit between UltDoom and Tony is reduced to "yeah nigga I know I have time powers remember anyway gotta setup more pages and speeches", nobody likes each other, nobody has time to talk to each other, or banter, or joke, or have a lighthearted conversation, not even a trendy-cringe one that makes it "grounded and realistic", the best shit we have is in Ult Spiderman and all the romance and trust between the characters is already built.
We're just getting daily standups in comic form.
>>
>>151347271
This shit is moving at a snail's pace. Literally every Ultimate book has nothing going on and little has been achieved by the characters. Ultimate Spidey being the biggest offender and not even the MC of his book. That honor goes to Harry.

No wonder DCs Absolute line is clapping them.

The Miles book was such a let down because it all just to set up a mother event. And the timeline of events were extremely inconsistent. (Like Mei and Miles going to Eurasia and fought Magic) And the only connector was the last issue because it connects to #17 of The Ultimates

Nah, actually considering Doom doesn't specify that he found out about the Maker's identity thanks to Miles, you can still surmise he just eventually figured it out while he was looking at the files for the history of the main universe version of the FF since Maker would still have the same powers of Mr. Fantastic and displayed similar level of intelligence considering that he also made the Ultimate Nulifier against Galactus.

News flash: there is not an actual "left" in power anywhere in the disunited states. Neoliberal capitalists using culture war d&c tactics to divide the left side of the proletariat on behalf of the 1% are not left wing by any stretch of the imagination no matter how much they harp on about trannies and police aggression against black and brown people (without, you know, actually trying to do anything substantial about it). The old school neocons and new school MAGAs do the same thing to the right side of the proletariat btw, using anti-abortion activism, misogyny and anti-black racism to achieve the same ends for the same rich bastards who financially back both.

In fairness, considering this whole universe was manipulated by Maker behind the scenes, I don't think its far too off to consider that half of the inmates were actually legitimate heroes in the original 616 universe and just basically framed by the Maker to put them into prison.
