>>151350376This entire season was a bit above average, but it didnt hit me as hard as season 1. Something felt off. Maybe too many characters just changed into plot devices, oh so many characters. Also charlie was a definite wreck the entire time, Im not sure she did anything the entire season. Oh and Alastor, I promised you guys he will remain the potential man and he did. Pulling some technicality on a deal "uh, over the line!" doesnt count as doing something. So many other potential men as well. Lute's balls would be completely blue by now, if she had any. Valentino was the only character that actually went places.

>>151356483The biggest problem of the season is that Vox by himself simply isnt a credible villain of the scale the season needed to have any stakes. Vox jobbed to Alastor who jobbed to Adam who jobbed to Lucifer and heaven supposedly has several Lucifers plus actual Lucifer who would side with heaven. Sera once on board with redemption has nothing stopping her from just comparing notes with Charlie/making a joint announcement to all of hell about the possibility of redemption. So many things hinge on dumb ad hoc inflexible points such as 'Lucifer cant harm sinners' and 'Pentious cant be in hell after redemption' which exist just so the obvious solution to the problem cannot be enacted. Everything would have been so much more organic if Lucifer was actually bitter at heaven or something instead of being a silly quirk chungus. That way hell has some firepower of its own, plus a central dangerous antagonist, plus someone who can put some muscle behing evil sinner schemes.

I personally think we should have seen Alastor acting like how he did in the last two episodes in the first season and the first half of Season 2 instead of being this pathetic, ineffective, dumbass bitch who couldn't even remember his own mission for his freedom. It just feels more like he just had his plan happen because it just had to.

The production quality of this season was much higher than the first and the musical numbers have improved tremendously, but it only serves to highlight how shit the writing is jesus. It feels like a blur of things that happen for no reason for the sake of being exciting, but overall nothing really makes any sense.
