I haven't read the IDW comic for a while. I thought the comic was about to start a big "Sonic vs the Court of Owls" event with the characters all taking on a carnival themed crime syndicate.Instead its a paper thin trans allergory with all the subtlety of a punch to the face, complete with chud parents accusing Sonic of corrupting the youth via smartphone (but they instantly pivot into fully supporting their child, despite supposedly being abusive and set in their ways) and the whole plotline is done and dusted after one issue with no real payoff. We probably won't see these characters again (which suits me fine) and the designer is writing screeds on bluesky about "no pronouns" and writing guides on how to talk about their character (and it is clunky as fuck).This is really disappointing.

>>151362060Thats the sadest part, 'cause on a surface this is a very simple story where Sonic just helps someone, instead of being hyped as this new insane adventure with new villains. The idea of the family not being connected to eggman or being new bads themselves is also kinda refreshing. But, the whole issue is just rushed and just a bunch of dialogue stuff, as characters come to conclusions at break neck speed. When, it could have been done a rather sweet and actually have some weight to it, an could have easily been done in this issue without cutting corners. I did toss one idea how it could have been done an think it would have given the idea of acceptande more impact than what we got here.

>>151362136>him showing a more softer side there was always nice.The issue with Archie Shadow (and Team Dark in Archie as well) is that he was born out of a general misunderstanding over Shadow in 06, caused by a botched translation/localization, and one of the biggest mandale effects in the Sonic series.Because Shadow was not truly seen again in a main game for the followkng years, an entire generation grew up thinking Archie Shadow was the actual characterization, only for the next main Shadow appearance to be like a bucket of cold water to them.
