And the writers need to be okay with that; they need to understand they're doing their own twisted thing and not really respecting real-life abuse victims with the way they're portraying characters. The problem is the show thinks it can both make funny, sexy jokes with the awful rapist abuser and also portray the issue realistically. They can't, and they should just accept that already.

I have to ask. What are your thoughts on this show?For me, it has really good moments with the Heaven characters (including Pentious) but it pretty much seems very distracted by all of the juggling it has (and doesn’t need to do). That I wonder why they don’t make shorts for Vox and the Vees instead of a whole season. They’re good evil characters but the lengths they had to do to make them the main threat hampered other characters too much. And because what Vox did is legitimately super dangerous and high-stakes, the writers were put in the corner of resolving Vox and the giant bomb with a Care Bears Stare mechanic you will never see again.
Why is nobody talking about the fact that they keep drip-feed increasing the Jesus symbolism/references in this show like all those crosses in the church Sera was in on the windows? Jesus is pretty blatantly canonical in Hazbin at this point which makes me wonder wtf they're doing with it
