>Marvel Comics is kicking off a massive new era for its Planet of the Apes line this February with a crossover fans never thought they’d see: PLANET OF THE APES VS. FANTASTIC FOUR. The four-issue event marks the first time the iconic sci-fi franchise officially collides with the Marvel Universe. The series comes from writer Josh Trujillo (What If…? Galactus) and artist Andrea Di Vito (Emma Frost: The White Queen).>Marvel’s history with Planet of the Apes goes all the way back to the classic adaptations of the original films, and recent titles—like last year’s Beware the Planet of the Apes—have expanded the mythology in bold new directions. Now, for the first time ever, Marvel’s First Family is stepping into Ape City itself. If you thought humans who could talk rattled the simian hierarchy, wait until Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben arrive.
>WORLDS COLLIDE when the Fantastic Four become stranded on the apes’ world and find themselves face-to-face with Cornelius, Zira, Ursus, and Dr. Zaius. But trouble follows them: classic Marvel villains have also targeted Ape City, setting up a crossover brawl unlike anything either universe has seen.>“I grew up watching Planet of the Apes marathons on Saturday afternoons, so it’s a huge thrill to write for these iconic characters!” Trujillo said. “Having Marvel’s First Family butt heads with Cornelius, Zira, and Dr. Zaius is just too much fun… It’s a mash-up decades in the making.”>Artist Andrea di Vito added, “It sounds like a weird meeting at first, but then you realize both franchises were meant to meet sooner or later. Ending up on the Planet of the Apes is absolutely perfect for a classic FF adventure… I am honored to illustrate this ‘first official meeting.’”>Fans can check out Greg Land’s main cover, preview pages by Di Vito and Erick Arciniega, and preorder PLANET OF THE APES VS. FANTASTIC FOUR #1 at their local comic shop now.
So they are actually doing this? I thought that Planet of the Apes was just a shitpost crossover.
>>151353774Monke kino
>>151353774If Thing doesn't scream the iconic "damn dirty ape" line, it'll be all for naught.
>>151353774>Doom>not Red Ghost and the Super Apes
>>151355396Relax, it's just issue 1.
>>151354173Monkeno
>>151353774Don't get me wrong, Planet of the Apes is cool, but how could putting the FF in the setting possibly work? Adding superpowers just sort of resolved all of the problems they would in the setting and they've probably met stranger people than apes.
>>151353774This isn't bad at all conceptually, it's exactly the sort of thing the Fantastic Four built themselves on, but if Doom is involved it's hard to not imagine him completely shitting on the Apes.
>>151355547Ben is normal >>151353787 I expect traveling to the planet will somehow negate their powers.
>>151353774Marvel just got done with the Predator and Godzilla crossovers. Crossoverslop has been getting more and more common these days.
>>151353774Feels very random and has a very random creative team on it as well
>>151353774Heh, somebody else wanna bet the Red Ghost and his Super Apes will be involved here?
