It’s not fantastic, but out of the “purgatory” era I like Skinner’s Sense of Snow.

Honestly, Mike Scully's episodes aren't that bad overall. I find myself laughing at most of the episodes, there's still an element of wit to their writing despite character bastardizations. I can't say the same for anything after him, though.

Behind the Laughter and Trilogy of Error are the ones everyone points to.

And what >>151357879 said. When you aren’t watching the show and order and watching the pieces fall away episode to episode, most of them are funny at the very least.

Milhouse is such a wuss

I can't quite pinpoint what exactly it is, since it's a lot of things working together, but he's just such a great character for suffering a terrible fate. You imagine Milhouse suffering and your first instinct is to laugh. They really did create a remarkable character in that regard.

I liked most of the Scully era episodes, the show only got truly shit to me after season 15, then I dropped it and never watched it again

I loved Saddlesore Galactica as a kid, but now I think it’s awful.

There were a lot of jokes I liked from that ep, including that and the film they watched about Christmas hobgoblins, although that was a little too lolrandumb in hindsight.

I hate the one at the end where Skinner tells the hamster to “chew through his ballsack” and the hamster does a reaction face though. It’s like they wanted to insert a laugh track in there.

It is really awful

Even as a kid I thought this joke was terrible
