They definitely should've built Abel up more into that role, but I was endeared by the fact that we actually got Stump doing what he was paid to do and sing a somewhat Fallout Boy kind of song and it was cool. On top of that, it showed that in the end both Lute and Abel basically want the same thing, which is respect from Adam and I liked getting to see that side from Abel. Next season is all about family (like Angel and Lilith), so I do hope we get more about Adam and the positive impact he unironically seems to have left on Lute and Abel when they respect him. His impact on Abel is obvious, but think about Lute as well. She was able to swallow her pride (something characters in the show rarely do) and back off, compare that to Vox who had to be beaten the shit out off to by the people closest to him to get stopped. In contrast Lute had a moment of development, and it all stemmed from the respect she has from Adam. I hope we get to explore more of Adam as a positive force in that way and I hope Lute does get a chance to continue to grow. Also her reuniting with Sinner Adam would be great, thanks.

Hopefully that one scene is a turning point and Abel realizes that as Lute's commander he has to deal with her somehow instead of just treating her as an annoyance. She needs someone who will pay attention to how bad things are getting for her and actually try to intervene. All things considered he treats her well in the finale, he gives her the chance to back down before she really fucks up (which she does take!) and offers her an out without any further punishments or consequences.
