The Final Month Begins!Comics in this thread:>Amazing X-Men #3>Binary #3>Laura Kinney: Sabretooth #3
Bump if you're reading.
>"The traitor I'd been sent to kill was Revelation's wife. Bei the Blood Moon."And we also learned two weeks ago, that Cortez was the real traitor and that Bei died for nothing.
>"Revelation intends to convert the entire biomass of the territories--land, animals, people--into himself.">"[...] Ego the Living Planet all over again."I think we might be getting closer to Dominions here, especially with the technarchy involved, right?
Was that really necessary Glob?
>>151544518Was any of this?
>"But I didn't expect to hear such...utilitarianism coming from you."Oh no. It's the original Beast, isn't it?
>>151544526True.
Holy shit, it's fucking Wiz-Kid! Man it feels like forever since I last saw you.
>Cyclops and Beast have been in AoR for a week>Cortez recently diedSince the events of Overture > Amazing X-Men #1-2 happen with zero gaps, then that should mean that the timeskip in Book of Revelation #2 was about 5-6 days.
Yeah right, just tell everyone to go to bed while you go and harvest all information possible about this timeline for your own purposes.
>>151544493Here for Carol
>R-LDS is (apparently) not a thingWait, so it was all a fake out? But then what happened to Magneto back then? Did he lie?
Oh well, I guess we'll get answers to that another day.Anyways, Apocalypse is here!
New month, new editorial pages.
>>151544549You're not from that far back, Scott
We got a last look at the map again, now having received a minor update. I'm saying last, because next time these pages show up, AoR is over. And now for Binary.
It's the last month of the event, so all of our tie-ins are finally heading towards their conclusions. Will they stick the landing? We'll see.9 years ago, Jean gave her life to make sure that the X-Virus never managed to spread outside of Earth and made Carol the new host of the Phoenix Force. In the present, Carol has been protecting her hometown Beverly, Massachusetts from dangers of the world by surrounding it with a psychic barrier. But the people are becoming restless and a man named Hank was able to successfully trick people into thinking that she is actually lying about the events of the outside world. In reality, Hank was working for Madelyne Pryor, who managed to cause a breach in the barrier and let a pack of Babels into the town, with the end goal of weakening her mind and her connection to the Phoenix Force. Following that, Hank managed to detonate a bomb on Carol with the goal of killing her, but that plan failed. As Carol was ready to retaliate, she was stopped by Jean, who revealed herself to Carol and revealed that she was alive this entire time because she is the Phoenix. But their reunion was cut short as Madelyne struck Carol down, ready to claim the Phoenix Force for herself!
Wait, you JUST realized that it's Madelyne? But you have already met her in person before, you should know who the hell she is.
Cool that you're back Jean, but shouldn't you be doing something about Madelyne?
While the girls are fighting over the space bird, let's check back on Hank again.
>"You failed as Binary...you failed as the Phoenix...you failed as Carol Danvers."That's pretty harsh.
Yeah, sticks and rocks doesn't work that well against a Jean Grey clone who knows magic.
Oh well, RIP Carol. Also there's something really off with that headpiece.
Bye Madelyne, see you again when we head back to the present.
Will this mean that Jean is going to join the final battle in the Finale one-shot? Maybe, who knows.
And now for Laura Kinney: Sabretooth.
X years later, Laura joined Revelation as one of his Seraphim and took on the Sabretooth mantle following the death of Zane Creed, the apparent son of Victor Creed and her late husband. But despite this, she asked her (estranged) siblings Akihiro and Gabby to take her son Alex with them and their group of mutants to Canada (through a teleportation gate), due to his lack of mutant powers and the growing instability of the Revelation Territories. Revelation was not happy about the idea of mutants leaving his nation and especially not when another group of mutants associated with Akihiro and Gabby's group were headed to Arakko, so he used his Apocalypse Heir powers on Laura and ordered her to stop them. Laura and the Seraphim ambushed the groups as they ran towards the teleportation gate, getting harmed in the process and causing her healing factor to regenerate her wounds and to wake up from Revelation's control. Meanwhile, the teleportation gate was damaged during the ambush and as a result made it so that Akihiro, Gabby and Alex, along with the group that got away to get accidentally teleported to Arakko, where Apocalypse and his soldiers captured them...
This does actually take place before Amazing X-Men #3, but I'm covering it later because it doesn't really spoil any events like Expatriate X-Men did.
>"You weren't there. You didn't see what happened."You know that he has someone operating a spy network for him Laura, why the hell are you surprised that he knows this?
Again, not really sure that this matches with the Arakko story in the World of Revelation one-shot.Also, is this Rictor's first appearance in this timeline?
Now is not the time for a headache, kid.
Now what the hell was that for?
>>151544535>>151544568>hankbecomesaspacenazi.jpg>hankcompareshimselftoGod.jpg>hanknukesanalternateuniverse.jpg
Suddenly, energy blast
...That's it? The kid just fucking killed them all like that?
Yeah, uh. Really unsatisfying and sudden ending? Feels like Schultz didn't have a good idea of what to write in this event and just wrote herself into a corner with this.
checklist
And that was Week 9 of Age of Revelation tie-ins.Next week: Unbreakable X-Men #3, Sinister's Six #3, Iron & Frost #3, Longshots #3, Spider-Man & Wolverine #8.And that's it! If you liked these, support your LCS or whatever.

>>151544518I will miss this Glob
>>151545204Brevoort justifying himself as "THE CONDUCTOR OF X"
So the unifying theme this week was MEN LYIN', WOMEN DYIN'I'm beginning to suspect this whole AoR event was originally meant to be just a small DOFP throwback meant for MacKay's X-Men run exclusively but Brevoort mandated it be scaled up to a full line-wide event Flashpoint-style, so the tie-ins basically serve the purpose of explaining why the rest of the X-Men won't be a factor in what was always meant to be a character piece for Cyclops
>>151544806And ugly art too
>>151544595>Did he lieIt's fucking Magneto during a face turn of course he's lying
>>151544796Man way to just ruin the whole point of the story
>>151544806>Really unsatisfying and sudden ending?A throughline for this entire event
>>151546236This entire event has been dogshit, I'd call it one of the worst events at Marvel but even those dumpster fires are far more entertaining. I think the worst part is that there is nothing interesting going on in terms of themes, teams, art or writing. Everyone falls back to the same fucking tropes and twists and the only thing different is Doug's plan to become Ego but even that is downplayed, shit should be a MASSIVE reveal. Christ AoR is a massive waste of everyone's time
>>151545204What was the point of any of this other than poorly trying to hide that they canned like half the x-line at once.
>>151546360The only interesting thing is Krakoa Beast possibly being back

>>151544599POCCY DADDY BABYcan we start -_|*A*|_- posting again
>>151546360That's a bit unfair. AoR hasn't be entirely absent in terms of themes... Unfortunately those themes are "What if ICE and RFK Jr. were right about everything?"
>>151546371It's so transparent that Brevoort is a nostalgia poisoned fraud trying to secure himself a seat on Fiege's coattails when the MCU X-Men Gravy Train finally rolls in... IF IT EVER ROLLS IN
>>151544568duplicitous son of a bitch
>>151544633>>151544640We should get Jean, Optimus, Superman and Aerith and TF2 Soldier in a /co/ comic where every time they come back, they come back even stronger.

>>151548967Curiously the planet was already hacked during the whole AXE fiasco. They needed Nimrod and Orchis to pull it off, though.
>>151544518>>151544514Funny thing is wasn't Psylocke made to wear the badge by Doug as punishment recently? Or am I already trying to memoryhole this shitty event?
>>151553226Yes, the badge was a punishment by Doug back in the beginning of the event
>>151544535I thought her sword was psionic, a version on Betsy's psi-knife, not enhanced with pink energy.
>>151544535>>151544507It's been suggested for some time this is the original, though if it is odds are he'll simply try to co-opt Doug's plan for himself. Planet Beast? Beast World? Not too different from some of the alternate timelines Old Man Omega took everyone through to stop Hank back during Krakoa.
>>151544796So that is why his name is Alex. He really was named after Havok.
>>151544542Wiped themselves from his mind, but how do they explain that? He tripped and fell headfirst on a bullet?
>>151544549>"All you future X-Men do is fight with each other.Scotty, you've been in the Marvel universe since the beginning. That's all ANY of you heroes do. Your own groups, other groups, various governments, the civilian populace... You almost fight each other more than you do villains.
>>151544558I'm not sure if this is stupidity on Scott's part or surprising genre savviness. The easiest way to defeat Revelation in this future would be to go back to the past, however how often has he seen where one of these bad futures somehow persists as its own independent thing?
>>151544633The weird thing is the Phoenix is actually Hope, right? After Jean knocked up some rando firelady to give birth to Hope who had to die to rebirth the Phoenix? Oh what an incestuous web we weave...
>>151544680>That's pretty harsh.But accurate.
>>151544720They can show up at the finale with their sticks and stones. That'll put the hurt on Douglas.
>>151545883body swap with joseph maybe
>>151544507Yup.
>>151546297Considering some of the events we've seen from his perspective, such as the Infinity comic where he reconnected with his Jewish ancestry, if he's lying he's done so so completely that even he believes it. Not impossible to arrange, of course, if you know a telepath you trust to alter your memories. However if it WAS fake then why doesn't anyone remember the time Magneto pretended to be crippled so he could park close to buildings and not have to walk far in the Alaskan weather?
>>151544618>>151544720Well. It was nice to see Beverly as Carol's hometown and not Harpswell Sound, which I still don't get the point of adding. And Phillips is confirmed as not doing Carol's upcoming book, so great.
>>151553655Jean saved the entire universe from Enigma as the Phoenix.
>>151554519maybe its PTSD
>>151546407thats the opposite of interesting. that characterization is still played out
>>151546236>beginning to suspect"beginning"?! its been obvious this was just a mcKay storyline for Adjectiveless and Brevoort got his mits on it.the only things coming out if are Simone and Seeley are probably creating the first teases of stuff to come in Uncanny and X-Force. And Longshots is a chance to shitpost
>>151554748But this is about Carol.
Can I get a QRD? Not actually reading this event, never seen a decent alt-future x-event.
>>151555482People were calling BS on this for awhile now, namely because despite being resurrected via Krakoan eggs his last resurrection was via magical shenanigans with Storm and a mystical key, and he came out looking years younger. Then suddenly in the new X comics he's looking old, haggard, and his powers are failing. Like they were saying, "Yeah magical resurrection via god fuckery cured him getting his heart ripped out but forgot to fix Krakoan resurrection sickness that is also killing him."
>>151556007Apocalypse wanted to fuck off to Mars to live with Mars mutants and picked the absolute worst X-Man to be his heir to complete his works on Earth. Doug proceeded to screw over everyone and everything he held dear, including his waifu and very likely his best friend Warlock since he hasn't shown up either. It's another dead end future involving time travel shenanigans to reboot it, this time involving Cyclops and Beast (but nobody is sure which Beast yet, his current clone version from before he went powermad or his original powermad verison). The event will be over soon. Apocalypse isn't happy with how Doug decided to fulfill his mission and is coming for a reckoning.
>>151544720this sucked
>>151544806jesus this was even worse
>>151556419Too bad their thread didn't survive. I wonder how much copium her cult has compared to normal. Maybe they just got enough yuribait to be satiated with it.
>>151556091What I hate most is that they did the same ol>Humans vs Mutants shitDespite Doug spending the entire issue McKay gave him mulling over the mission Apocalypse gave him and being inspired by Dooms' takeover of the world they still defaulted to the same tired ass conflict they always do. I would have rather they retreaded OWUD minutes after it ended than AoA. Hell maybe they could have done it better
>>151556714To be fair this appears to be Doug versus EVERYONE. Mutants carry the virus as well. I don't get a sense that they will be immune to this transformation. It seems silly. His power allows him to mindhack people, he could have established order far more simply. Not sure why this turning the planet into Doug is a thing, how it makes sense. If his views are turning outward and using it against the rest of the universe, that feels like it's just a variation on the Sins of Sinister.Still the reason why this had to be "mutants versus the world" is that Doug is the new Apocalypse. It's baked right in that whatever he would do would vastly change the world.I frankly am not a fan of this whole event.
>>151544808god end of the month? fuck
>>151556028maybe it's a flawed sinister clone while the real mags is, idk, mastering the art of latke in the potato dimension
It's really weird how much they've been shitting on Doug's character since Krakoa began. Even when he seems to be trying to do the right thing, or what he thinks is the right thing, he makes shit worse. Releasing Moira? Altering Sabertooth's incarceration in the island and letting him take over the hellscape within?I'm worried about what will happen in Sinister's Six. Specifically I fear that it will turn out that this is all yet another Sinister ploy. Recall that Sinister was present during Apocalypse's trials to pick his heir. He was also fucking with the other participants at the time. It's entirely possible that Sinister fucked up Doug and this is why Doug is going off the deep end. It's even possible that the Doug-Sinister that was present at the end of Krakoa working with Xavier either didn't die or was re-born via cloning with Sinister himself acting as a distraction while Doug-Sinister plays Apocalypse's game to win.Can it work thematically? Sure. Sinister has a very long history with Apocalypse, in fact it's right in his origin. But goddamit do we need another Sinister fucks everything up redux? I really hope this evil Beast theory pans out and isn't just a red herring. At this point I'd take more evil Beast fucking everything up instead. Sure we just saw that too, but at least it's not more Sinister shit.
>>151556091As a Cyclops fanboy is it worth a read? McKay's X-Men is boring as fuck.
>>151557236its okay
>>151556996Don't forget releasing Nature Girl.
>>151546236That has to be the case. Marvel has a long history of doing it too: Fear Itself was just meant to be an arc in Fraction's Mighty Thor, Infinity was originally just going to be in Hickman's Avengers, etc.
>>151557501>Blood Hunt>One World Under DoomThe list goes on yet they never learned their lesson
>>151553351Except recently
>>151558033Dude, they were literally FIGHTING A BASEBALL WAR. Or something, I don't really remember.
>>151556996The shit with Nature Girl and his open support for X-Men Green is WHY this arc has happened as his shit with Nature Girl pretty much made a large number of X-Men fans despise Doug; hence turning Doug evil so Scott can straight up execute him in the present when he comes back.
