So, now that it's over, how would you sum up the book?
This series really needed a different writer. Gronbekk had good stuff seeded in and proceeded to do absolutely nothing with it. Supporting cast was there and nothing was done with them. Why she was in NYC made no sense and we were just tossed in with nothing explained. There was no real underlying story being advanced, just Maka aimlessly fighting villains. What story there WAS got undermined immediately by making fucking Tombstone the big villain despite the fact he's boring and has been horrifically overused the last few years.Shame this character won't get a chance with a writer who will actually focus on the shit and characters that should have gotten attention, especially Caroline. After the Paper Doll issue, though, it was just aimless with no reason given to care about anything. Also, Gronbekk apparently having gotten her idea of kid dialogue from SammyClassicSonicFan.
