all webcomics are niche but which one would you never admit to reading
I can't believe I JUST discovered Dragon Mango. It's everything I miss in old webcomics, and it's STILL GOING.
I've been reading Girl Genius for 17 years. It's never going to end anytime soon and I'm fine with that.

>>151565363remind me again what is "niche" because I'm afraid I'll recommend something and find out it's too popular and I am a boob and a shill and a pillock.
>>151567970i am truly impressed with how funny oglaf continues to be. it's just wonderfully stupid and never up its own ass. feels a lot like Krapopolis in that the sexual stuff is myriad without feeling woke, just because it depicts a bunch of hedonistic fantasy people
>>151567979welp, now this webcomic earned a new reader!
>>151568162niche is only you and the creator's immediate social circle read it
been enjoying Swan Boy lately
Sugar and Spies and Exvulnerum both came back from pretttty long hiati. That always warms me heart.oh and Vee started up a new webcomic. It's kind of unhinged but I'm just glad she's okay.
Some anon storytimed "Demon" by Jason Shiga here a few years ago and I've re-read it a few times since then.
>>151571672that is one of those fuckin comics where you just... what the fuck, in another time this would have become an enduring classic, just for being this brilliant and unique. Same for the short story 'There Is a Crack in the World." Like god damn.I hope Shigababy's doin okay. He moved to fuckin France for the artistic freedom.. how's that workin out for ya now?

Dragon Mango is pretty awesome. Currently writing a fanfic for it.
>>151572060if somebody wrote a fanfic of my comic (and it wasn't just autistic ranting about them sitting on toilets), I could die happy.if I ever saw cosplay of my comic I'd probably become a blubbering mess.
>remember this>still going>check latest chapter>mages in lingerie>arousal magicI don't remember this comic being that horny
>>151572285well the art's good, so that's all it takes for me to like that something is horny.
>>151572157Thankfully, it isn’t an autistic rant about them sitting on toilets. I’m trying to make it as close to the webcomic as can be achieved in written form. Gags left and right, attempts at accurate characterization and dialogue, and references to Dragon Mango’s running gags. I’m about a 3rd of the way done, but I just figured out how I want the ending to go. Let’s just say it involves the Lolita Knights, specifically Candy, running into Bleu and Mango at the best possible time. So I’ll definitely be making better progress!
>>151565363did he ever wrap this up?
>>151572411awesome. You're awesome. I've done a few in my day, at least two of which the author REQUESTED me to do one, so I know how you feel, trying to stay accurate. And that example is a stick figure comic, so I was focusing more on the writing, and yeah that's just like what you're doin. Keep it up.for extra points, you gonna write it like the old days, in script format? I remember when everything was written like that...
>>151565363>(at least 5+ years old to prevent shilling)>>>/v/
>>151565363I occasionally keep up with the Rock Cocks story, though I barely understand what's happening and am not sure how the comic has lasted over a decade at this point. It is sorta interesting to read, as it's from the Tumblr era of the internet and very much feels like it but still manages to stay somewhat fresh. Also, the sex scenes aren't bad.
>>151572706it really is sad how it went downthey did this simple fun slice of life comic, and then they wanted to put a single scene of someone changing clothes in it, and their ads got pulledso they're like fuckit, I guess we're doing porn now, since we have to use ads that accept pornand now nothing accepts porn so I assume it's all crowdfunded by the mentally ill trannies who appreciate the representation. Kinda sad like, I so dig their vibe of 'people have bodies, get em the fuck out there' and then they just accept transsexualism without an eye-batting, something which flies entirely in the face of nudism and general self-acceptance, as anyone who's looked into nude yoga knows. the butcher shop stays closed.
>>151572588No, not doing it in script format. I probably should write more script format stuff, but for fanfics, I find it hard to read. Also, thanks for the kind words! In exchange, here's an excerpt from the fic, which I am entitling "Dragon Mango: a Harrowing Tale of Horrid Hallucinations">The forests outside of Fafnir were, in the eyes of some, wild and lawless. This was only partially true; the forests were indeed wild, but far from lawless. Nature, after all, has a certain pecking order to it, every plant and animal playing its part, from the greatest oak to the smallest rodent. On the whole, nature tended to prefer things nice and orderly. This, perhaps, went a long way to explain why Bleu Berry kept getting smacked in the face by errant shrubbery as she barreled on all fours through the well-oiled cogs and gears of nature like a cannonball careening through a clock tower. “Mango, this is all your fault!” Bleu shouted to her red-headed passenger.“My fault!? How is this my fault!?” Mango shouted back as she tried her best to hold onto Bleu with one arm and her pint-sized fellow passenger, Cherry, with the other.“You’re the one who let Cherry wander off!”“No, I told her to run away when the Lolita Knights showed up! Also, how was I supposed to know she’d go and kick a nest of Dire-Hornets!?” Mango said as she turned back to the swarm of black-and-yellow death pursuing them through the fog, each hornet the size of a cat with compound eyes full of hate and spear-like stingers full of venom.Cherry giggled. “The honey was tasty.”Mango and Bleu both blinked. There were a few moments of relative silence, filled only by the buzzing of the dire-hornets and the sound of clawed feet pounding against the forest floor. Neither of them wanted to be the one to ask the obvious question. As usual, Mango was the one to break the silence.“Uh, Cherry, I’m no beekeeper but I’m pretty sure hornets don’t make honey. What exactly did you—"
>>151572871ohh I like your writing style. yes, this will work soundly.
>>151572871“Mango, we can figure that out later. Right now, we need to come up with a plan. Any ideas?”For a moment, Mango closed her eyes in concentration. Then she snapped her fingers. “I’ve got it!” said Mango, her eyes alight with excitement.“Really?” Bleu asked in a tone as flat as the look she gave Mango.Mango rolled her eyes and scoffed. “Yeah, I do, actually. All I need to do is bust out my old, reliable Mango Passion Blast on some unsuspecting trees and— BAM! Instant smokescreen! That’ll drive these things away, no problem.”Bleu glared back at Mango as her cold-aura began to intensify, enveloping Bleu and her passengers in a field of frigid elemental energy. “Mango, there are several things wrong with that plan. One, these are dire-hornets, not honeybees, smoke won’t work on them. Two, it rained last night and there’s fog everywhere. Even if we did go through with your plan, the trees wouldn’t burn. And three, even if those last two weren’t an issue you’re basically suggesting we start a forest fire. While we’re still in the forest!”“Hey, I wasn’t gonna say to do it here. Look,” Mango growled as she pointed ahead of them, “there’s a mountain at the center of this forest, I was gonna say we do it there.”Bleu and Mango peered out through the rapidly thinning forest in front of them. In place of a mountain was an impenetrable wall of fog.“Uh, Mango …”“Yeah?”“WHERE IS THE MOUNTAIN!?!?!?”“Hey, don’t give me that! Cherry told me it was there earlier; said she saw it after the elves left.”“You mean after they knocked you senseless?”“Oh, scre— wait, I think I can see it!”
>>151572886Bleu squinted as she saw the fog thin ever-so-slightly, revealing a towering mountain. It was devoid of the flora and fauna that surrounded it, being solely composed of a dark gray, almost black stone that appeared to almost absorb the surrounding light. Despite not being visible a second ago, it seemed to dominate the scenery, drawing in Bleu’s attention like a boat being drawn into a whirlpool. Her eyes began to water. Bleu blinked as she managed to wrench her gaze away from the monolithic mountain, enough to shoot Mango a flat look.“Okay, so the mountain does exist, that still doesn't solve our pest problem.”“Ugh, you’re impossible today, how am I supposed to win with you!?”Bleu rolled her eyes. “Oh, I don’t know, Mango. Maybe try coming up with a plan so we can deal with your mess!”“Yeesh, Berry, why are you such a grouch today? Did you sleep funny last night or is it just that time of the mon— HURRRRGGG!”
>>151572886Mango began shuddering as Bleu’s bone-chilling aura flared up again, this time freezing the fog in the air into ice crystals and causing frost to form on Mango’s extremities.“Mango,” Bleu growled, as she gave Mango a look that wasn’t withering, so much as it was famine inducing, “I will give you ONE chance to course correct what you were about to say and come up with a plan that won’t send us to an early grave.”“Oh, er, uh. Maybe we could just run away to the mountain? I mean, all this fog and moisture and junk can’t be good for their wings— ACK!”Before she could finish, one of the crystalized fog clouds slammed into Mango’s face. Mango coughed and spat out the ice crystals before speaking again. “Seriously Berry, could you tone down the ice-aura-thingy!? You’re so cold you’re freezing the water in the air!”“Hey, it’s not like I can just turn this off, you know!” Bleu glared at Mango, before her eyes suddenly widened. “Wait, Mango, what was that you just said about freezing the water?”Mango blinked. “Huh? Uh, yeah, your weird-cold-aura-majiggy keeps freezing the fog into snow. What’s that have to do with anything?”“I just came up with a plan. Brace yourselves!” “Wait, what do you mean by tha—"Mango was cut off as Bleu Berry skidded to a stop, leaving a trail of dust, pebbles, and passengers in her wake. Unfortunately, by this point in the group’s unscheduled detour, the forest had given way to reveal the rough, craggy terrain of the base of the mountain.Mango let out a series of grunts, yelps, and barely restrained curses as she and Cherry tumbled down the jagged rock covered slope, Mango’s body conveniently shielding Cherry from the rocks as well as the thornbush that, eventually, halted their descent. “Owwwww.” Mango groaned, now covered in cuts, bruises, and a not inconsiderable amount of blood.>that's about a fourth of what I've got so far. Hopefully I can finish soon!

Webcomics are such a weird thing to think about just some go on for decades and no one talks about them and you're not even sure some have readers and like their somehow really niche most the time but maybe once were extremely popular but it's weird how like unpopular they are now like webtoons which is the same shit replaced it but those feel like a different thing, you think webcomics would've would've been the future but guess not also like they can just disappear like nothing too and no one cares.

>>151565363Is it just me or is America weirdly way more filled with cults than other first world countries? Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of those around. Despite her mother’s status as a pariah, Mango seeks to become the greatest dragon slayer in the world. As events unfold, however, Mango gets dragged into a quest to save the world alongside a cast of colorful characters. >>151575454>reading this right now, it's suspicious the narrator never talked about how he acted before being sent there. he probably was a troublemaker and his parents were fed up with him.>>151575611>>151576175I haven't read the comic, but i've read about those places and kids get sent there over trivial shit.
>>151619020Sold, I'm reading this at work tomorrow
>>151585263>Feast for a King is very very tumblr, but it's so bizarre I can't help but love it. It features cannibal space worms doing weird sex shit.>>151585314>it's the most aggressively tumblr thing I've ever seen, yet it's... so fucking engaging, so fascinating. I put all of that aside, and just enjoyed the weird fucking ride.. until the plot came to a screeching halt so they could put in gay marriage. Really guys? Feel like this setting is the place for that? Marriage?I don't think the plot came to a halt for that. If you are talking about the marriage between knife and one of the halves of spoon it's already created new plot threads.its implied there's going to be an eventual confrontation between the 2 halfs of him because of it
>>151619094it's the same with everythinggenuine fucking monsters get free reinslightly flawed people or people whose parents are to blame get tortured in ways we wouldn't allow -prisoners- to besame with any fucking issue you can think of. the rapists go free because victims are terrified, the innocent get thrown in jail because some woman said he touched her butt 30 years ago.
>>151619134Felt like a halt to me. Completely obliterated the tension.Felt like the fucking "it looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright law, it's not" bit. Like I think there's more pressing shit going on.

>>151593742This is awesome, how have I never heard of it?
>>151619560ooh that reminds me of Golf Girl, which has not updated in ages, but had a great premise and great art.
>>151619560Zebra girl is pretty good. Its complete but i think there's a spinoff/sequel. Link to comic:https://zebragirl.thecomicseries.com/comics/1/it started in 2000 (so its older than this site and some of the users). The artstyle has definintely changed a lot. idk if the plot direction changed as well.
>>151566173>not one single replyShameful.
>>151620181you understand why these samples aren't terribly impressive, right?i'm sure the writing makes up for it, but you haven't really shown that yetor are you disappoint that nobody remembers it
>>151565363I dunno, it's just interesting to me. No I didn't hear about it from that Ben Saint video.I hate trannies but they always have a fascinating ability to create the most creative and bonkers shit, likely due to being completely detached from reality. It's not perfect or a good story by any means, not even close. But what it lacks in some areas, it makes up for in being really charming and imaginative.
>>151620331unicorn jelly is more than interesting. it shows a deep understanding of 80s fantasy iconography that is so hard to put into words.it is true though, artists like this are usually gone in some capacity. Maybe it's multiple personalities, maybe trannyism, yknow take your pick

>>151620225I'm not the OP and it surprises me a little how nobody here seems to know about Thorsby's comics. They get really engaging once you get over the art, reminds me of the more interesting aspects of Doctor Who or R&M.
>>151620331I dont get what people get such a stick up their ass about transgender people.I'm quite critical of religion but I don't hate people just for being christian/muslim/whatever, or complain that they have religious inspired themes in their comics.
>>151620541they're quite separate, I assure you. This is something the human mind created, that another human mind recognizes, when it's wired properly. autism is nearly the opposite of that, it's like someone cut the strings.>>151620552it looks familiar, if that helps. Lotta comics used to look like that. Just saying, not the pages I would have posted to hook people, so it must have been more about recognition>>151620573really. You don't see a difference between a millennia-old claim that a supernatural being, ideally a loving one, sent a message to the people he created... and a couple decades old claim that you can just decide to be a different sex than the one you are.
>>151612444>>151605457thanks, reading it rn. the art and humor are pretty good, gotta admit

I'm not too far in yet but I've been going through Spacetrawler, it's a pretty fun ride and I love the art.
>>151620573>I dont get what people get such a stick up their ass about religious people.>I'm quite critical of transgenderism but I don't hate people just for being trans-fem/trans-male/whatever, or complain that they have transgender inspired themes in their comics. The actual truth of the matter is that neither group poses a threat to each other, yet they constantly antagonize each other and find reasons to get involved with each other when they need to just stay in their own isolated bubbles.I don't hate trans people but they do the exact same shit they complain about religious people doing of "These people do not subscribe to my worldview, we must force our beliefs on them as much as possible." Nobody likes to be told what they should believe, it's about coming to that conclusion on your own. Further on the subject, stuff like Christianity is about as far away from the public eye as it could be right now and shit is terrible because people are legitimately confused about "what it means to be a good person" and are obsessed with shit like sex and gender and self-worship. One side is evidently worse/louder than the other.I've seen a lot of gay/trans creatives who think outside the box (it seems to be a common theme), but there's also a blatant disregard/unawareness of the truth of reality and that can be an actual poison. Becoming a fake woman doesn't suddenly make your male problems go away, becoming more sexually deviant/promiscuous doesn't fulfill you in the long-term or develop healthy relationships, trying to "inspire" others to become trans is like that mentality that druggies have ("misery loves company"), etc. etc...
>>151620641>really. You don't see a difference between a millennia-old claim that a supernatural being, ideally a loving one, sent a message to the people he created... and a couple decades old claim that you can just decide to be a different sex than the one you are.Neither of those ideas (or the duration of time they were around) are really the portion most people take issue with in regards to religious practice or transitioning.Surgery and (modern) hormone therapy has been around for about 100 years. But to actually talk about stories (and bring the topic back to the thread): Having read a lot of mythology, I can safely say that the idea of social transition is much older. Strange example (from several thousand years ago), Arjuna (from the mahabharata) disguises himself as a transvestite (Hijra) for a year while in Exile.
>>151612444>El-Hazard mentioned(Unrelated, but...) I normally hate isekai, but sticking a worthless and corrupt student council president in a fantasy world where he teams up with the bad guy (who thinks he's actually brilliant) is a genius concept.I had to bring this up because I never see anyone talk about El-Hazard anymore and a majority of the show is ass barring the art and some gags. 90s isekai is egregiously dated.
>>151620735>Further on the subject, stuff like Christianity is about as far away from the public eye as it could be right now and shit is terrible because people are legitimately confused about "what it means to be a good person" and are obsessed with shit like sex and gender and self-worship. One side is evidently worse/louder than the other. In the usa, 1% of the population is transgender, and about 67% percent is christian (only about 5-10% are other religions). It's probably just what you see on twitter or the news that makes you think these things are louder than they are. Tweeting about jesus multiplying loaves and fish (or whatever) doesn't make for good ragebait.

>151620751I love how these people think they can just openly lie and nobody will say anything. How is that fun? You're winning without even playing the game properly.
>>151620841Whats the lie?
>>151620793isekai is like anything else: Started out with a few really creative ones, then run into the ground by bandwagoning idiots. Mushoku Tensei will always be great, El-Hazard is a certified classic... but the modern garbage you have to sift through before you can get a SLIGHTLY edible morsel like 'i'm a vending machine' is... well, there's a reason Isekai Oji-san is such a great show, tearing the genre a new one.
>>151620806And what does it tell you that that 1% holds more power to change policies than the 67, and is allowed to push its way into children's entertainment?>>151620833damn right it is.
>>151566010i liked parts of PFM but i can't be bothered. i read it,wait a long time, have to re-read it. forget again. ill read it all when its done. but "it hurts!!" thats a FUCKING master class.
>>151620856there's slop in every genre. people do low effort bandwagoning on the popular thing all the time. Its not unique to isekais but it could be that aspects of the genre make it worse. Wish fullfillment aspects, leaving old life behind, and going to new wonderful place.
>>151620889Good, sounds like you agree with me about-oh I'll grant you that, yeah. Isekai is a bit different in that it's inherently fluffy. But if you look at it more broadly as just... Japanese culture squeezing out the juices of hopelessness, then it's really no different from "show about wacky LOUD women who go nuts and express themselves (because in real life that would get you fucking ostracized)" animeI'm really hoping Zom100 takes off, Japan neeeeds that message right now. They have an almost perfect society except that there is zero mechanism for keeping an authority in check.
>>151620806I never trust those percentages/study things without sources, and even then, that shit is so easy to fake without any legal ramifications unless some Jew lawyer really wants to dig for a suit. You're also leaving out all the faggots, and the thousands of other actual """normal""" people who are being trained to share/accept/enforce these things from these percentages. You could walk out in public and shout a million trans slurs and never see one single tranny, but you'll certainly see all the people running over to kick the shit out of you to defend them.
>>151620952GOD that was a good Norm biteveryone go look it up
>>151620889My biggest problem with any isekai is the feeling of impermanence in the fantasy world. I've seen a lot that end in the shitty "protagonist changes/learns a valuable lesson but is forced to return to their own boring shitty world" and it gives you that feeling that's borderline "It was all just a dream!"To me the ideal isekai (in one aspect at least) is one where the protagonist willingly chooses to stay within the fantasy world, learn more about it, try to adapt to it, and the new characters become their friends, allies, lovers, so on. When you turn off the TV, it feels like those characters are still out there somewhere, having fun and adventuring. It doesn't feel like the magic "ended". This is actually a big reason why I hate the fuck out of Deltarune, shit like this sabotages its own world-building and it's pointless to be invested if the cool shit is all just gonna be sealed away in the end. And it's always that pompous out-of-touch lesson of "just forget about escapism, go touch grass and make REAL friends". It's worse than "the REAL treasure was the friends we made along the way".... To avoid this going massively off-topic, are there any webcomic isekai?

>>151611573At this point he almost certainly won't return to the original story, but it would still be interesting to see how he tackles it in like short tales and such.>>151621400>Idk if the rumors were true but he trooned out and lives in either Austin, TX or Portland and is homeless, but who tf knows.Considering how the people in the threads here were competing to win the award for biggest mass self-induced retardation that doesn't involve an actual concussion or chemical spill and bothering with the social media ramblings were both of the main downfalls of the threads here i doubt most of the rumors are true besides moving out of seattle due to costs there being abhorrent.

I guess it might not be for everyone, but I've read stuff with way cornier dialogue, so that doesn't bother me at all. Also The update pace is slow, but thats typical for webcomics.

It won awards in 2014.I think might be stronger than Sandra and Woo, but I have to re-read it because I got completely lost when I finished it. It's got the same artist and writer team. Unlike sandra and woo, I think the story was planned out from the start>The comic is based on a campaign which was developed by Oliver Knörzer (Novil), his mother Ute Knörzer (Milena) and some other team members as a mod for the computer game Neverwinter Nights 2 in 2004 and 2005. The project was eventually cancelled, but a large amount of dialog had already been written for the campaign at that point. The game’s content was eventually taken as source material for the comic. However, many changes have been made to make the story more exciting and to adapt it to the new medium.https://www.sandraandwoo.com/gaia/about/

I think it's one of the few webcomics I've read that handles both and a good balance rather well. And also, that's to say nothing of how much the guy improved by the end of the comic's run. The character design and paneling is so good past the first arc which is charming but still rather rough. I wish it was more popular though but I'm happy it's good enough without getting desecrated like other IP
https://www.soggycardboard.com/?comic=001-new-friends-1This ones been going on since 2014. It's very lol-random. It had a reboot at one point that was caused by in universe events and may have been an excuse to introduce new readers to it on webtoons or something.it might just be an excuse for fanservice or advertising the patreon. i don't remember if it had any real plot. i remember liking the pinups that you saw with the comic for free.
>>151627820
>>151627629that was it. good mem'ry. i will not retain that, because while it is distinct, it just doesn't mean anything>>151627646i don't want normies reading my shit anyway. I want it recommended to nerds by their nerd friends. oh wait none of us have any free time anymore and nobody follows each other's links...>>151627647anon I'm gonna let you look over what you just said again, and see if you can find the operant word negating your point.
>>151627807sounds prety cool>>151627841um
>>151627993>anon I'm gonna let you look over what you just said again, and see if you can find the operant word negating your point.Your pessimistic worldview springs from your ignorance of the reality outside of your curated feeds. Is it truly that much fun imagining me saying something unspoken?
>>151628014>umThats basically the humor a lot of the comic has. Sometimes it lands well. I think my motivation for reading it was that I found the main girl (carmen) hot.
>>151628147>I think my motivation for reading it was that I found the main girl (carmen) hot.Well I think that was part of my motivation. It's been a while since I really read it.carmen is the tan/browish skinned girl with freckles
>>151627807the art of zebra girl was fucking sick

>>151628997This ending was so bittersweet man, it made me sort of happy but I know those characters had to go eventually. Just sad we never got to see more of them, and I doubt they'll crossover often on either the spinoff or sequel. That guy's expressions were pretty good though. Dreaming arc was my favorite with bitchgirl Sandra
>>151629213love this tone. reminiscent of Invisible Bread and Buttersafe, which are both quite good>>151629354Right? It helps that it's pretty old. Old comics didn't have to pigeonhole themselves to all sexual or all sanitized.
>>151629477It is important when you end something, to think about the people who have been sitting here with the characters all this time, and how they will have an acceptable goodbye
>>151629436Having worked with vertical style comics, they're alright till you realize you've now stuck your comic in a format that will be a bitch to edit once you wanna make printed issues.

>>151629522I think that comic got about as close as possible to it>everyone got a conclusion>they all had le hugs and ended up in a happy situation>implied that they kept meeting further as friends and family until Sandra outlived themIt was inevitable, but the epilogue portion still leaves me feeling a bit saddened. That's just natural though. I suppose there's definitely a positive in an author that knows when to end a story rather than doing an "And then there were aliens" continuation when there was no need to>>151629738I wonder what the length of this one will be, guy wanted to start Clarity's demon adventures relatively quickly iirc but his update schedule might mean it'll be another 10 years before it gets there
>>151567979got a little too real
>>151629738oh that name sounds familiar.>>151629807yeah.. I tried that myself. Not sure how well it worked, but
Anyone heard of these guys before? It's been going since 1998https://ravensdojo.comI just found out about them because zebragirl's website linked to a fanart/cameo they did of the comichttps://web.archive.org/web/20191217155035/https://ravensdojo.com/comic/ravensdojo01088/
>>151567673>all webcomics are niche >>151568162>remind me again what is "niche" because I'm afraid I'll recommend something and find out it's too popular and I am a boob and a shill and a pillock.>>151569673>niche is only you and the creator's immediate social circle read it>>151583967>The discord has only 2500 members; what is the cutoff for something no longer being niche?I think given that this is /co/, it should be stuff that doesn't get mentioned on /co/ a lot. So it should be stuff that's niche for /co/.So None of these for sure, since they regularly get threads:Kill Six Billion Demons (despite it being one of my favorites)Bittersweet candy bowlUnsoundedEmmy the maid.Aside from those 4, idk. *maybe* Catgirl and EnnuiGo? The former gets threads sometimes, but it hasn't resumed yet. EnnuiGo mostly just gets the hot sauce comic posted as bait.
>>151629855Ending or the "and then there were aliens"Ayy lmaos can work in the case of Dragon Ball where it's basically a complete spinoff/genre shift and you get to admire both the OG and the new one side by side. If you just add aliens to stretch the plot like Naruto though then it's just sad
https://www.grrlpowercomic.com/archives/comic/gp0001/anyone read grrlpower? It has some quite intresting powers (though so sadly some are underused).
>>151630245>Ending or the "and then there were aliens">Ayy lmaos can work in the case of Dragon Ball where it's basically a complete spinoff/genre shift and you get to admire both the OG and the new one side by side. If you just add aliens to stretch the plot like Naruto though then it's just sadi haven't finished naruto, but one of the rabbit people's descendants show up pretty early on as cameos.
>>151630307It's more so the case of flipping the entire scripts into having aliens doesn't work out very well when it also removes one of the better villains of the story. Perhaps the ending suffers from being rushed and not having enough Kagura foreshadowing, but it just did not work quite as well. Likewise with Bleach's version of Ayys>And then there were Germans with guns
Theres a comic called frog raccoon strawberry. its by the guy creator of mighty magiswords. its about a talking raccoon wearing a frog costume.https://www.webtoons.com/en/canvas/frog-raccoon-strawberry/the-crosswalk-of-destiny/viewer?title_no=812563&episode_no=1someone uploaded an archive of them here:https://archive.org/details/en-canvas-frog-raccoon-strawberry-comics-archiveThere's also some archived on the previous comic host here:https://web.archive.org/web/20110704173451/http://dummcomics.com/2009/05/30/drawn-and-quartered/
>>151630380i havent gotten to that part of naruto or read bleach so icant really comment
>>151630418>its by the guy creator of mighty magiswords.Anon... I...
>>151630434Bleach at least had great art to go along with Germans from the shadow dimension, Naruto not so much
>>151629927As someone who has been reading savage dragon recently, opening that and seeing that the lastest issue is the horniest crossover I've ever seen is wild
>>151630538It was something I read out of curiosity, I left off when there was a joke about a teen girl going to a lemon party (or something like that)It apparently was going to become a cartoon before the creator was arrested.
>>151630289that art is abhorrent
>>151630699The art style varies wildly across the comic
>>151630167I just now discovered Catgirl. I'm refusing to get attached for a COUPLE reasons, but so far.. fascinating. and to do it completely sfw, just.. a fascinating choice.>>151630245sorry help me out, what trope are we discussing? I'm not familiar with "the ending is that now there's aliens"DBZ was using that as a BEGINNING. or are you trying to say like, that's the only thing you can do after you've given everyone a good ending?
>>151630647the fuck was he arrested for? did some shrew say he touched her butt? or just for being a really bad artist
>>151631321He had child pornography on his computer.
>>151631302I'm saying that>and then there were aliensis used as a way to artificially extend the story beyond it's natural conclusion. You can substitute aliens with literally whatever outside unknown force shows up out of nowhere to change the writing direction of the story into something the author finds easier or desires more. I suppose my post was actually a bit on the retarded side because I had meant to ask the anon if what he tried with his story was either>A proper good ending to everyone at a natural point in the story>or adding in aliens/random dudes from out of nowhere to give yourself more plot and maybe pray for a better endingIt's surprisingly common in manga. I only really know Dragon Ball as one that did it right but like you said it was set up pretty well from the start and even still it was done in a sequel series
>>151631302Catgirl is going to continue as a WEBTOON original. My guess is it will be out next year.
>>151631352oh nooooo, pictures.. those steal your soul. Yes in that case, you're super right.>>151631407so I have heard. Does that mean it'll start over from the start? I've seen that happen so many timesGhost Revolution has to be the longest wind-up to any comic release, with the most abrupt re-restart. Fucking amazing art though, minxy knows her shit.
>>151631540It will start over but there weren’t many episode already out

>>151630167I think gunnerkrig court also regularly gets threads. One up right now.

>>151632061CSEM/CSAM is another word for CP. It stands for child sexual exploitation/abuse material.
>>151631871agreed, paying is suuuper not cool. you're funding that shit.>>151631967that's retarded.
>>151632084Jesus Christ. Yeah, you shouldn't have those at all

>>151632197What the fuck are you saying, retard>>151632215>Who?Poster who used to likely still does haunt the HYW threads. Had a very strange comic called Kiwi Day N. Got drummed out of HYW when he defended pedophiles/ CSAM one too many times.
>>151631845>>151630167I've seen BCB, KSBD, Whomp, Questionable Content, Gunnerkrigg Court, and recently after the raid both Homestuck and Out of Placers got allowed back on the board. It'd be nice to have an indie web/co/mic thread becoming a fixture for people to talk about webcomics that don't have enough awareness to sustain their own thread on /co/. Or just old shit not many people remember anymore too.
>>151631540It was real child pornography.

>>151632339Unless we have confirmation about why the wayback machine removed asstr, I wouldn't assume the reason. Other erotic text story are still there. Im pretty sure host archives of erotic novels as well.It could be that the owner of the site requested it to be taken down, this has happened before. it could also be down temporarily (which has happened).
>>151632392and which one of those parties would you rather be?
>>151632413>and maybe next time don't randomly bring up someone's arrestThat was kind of a big deal here, it's not exactly "random" to bring it up if his work is mentioned
>>151632431the owner's fuckin dead, man. he stopped responding two or three takedowns ago, none of them were his idea.
>>151632450>the owner's fuckin dead, man. he stopped responding two or three takedowns ago, none of them were his idea. While i've heard of the site, i'm not really famliar with it, so I didn't know about that. Could it be that next of kin asked for it to be taken down? I'm just spitballing.I wouldn't immediately leap to assuming wayback machine is banning porn or erotica specifically.Their TOS even warns the use that>Because the content of the Collections comes from around the world and from many different sectors, the Collections may contain information that might be deemed offensive, disturbing, pornographic, racist, sexist, bizarre, misleading, fraudulent, or otherwise objectionable. source: https://archive.org/about/termsYou could theoretically contact them and ask about it.

>>151632285>>151632507I don't think the wayback machine normally reviews all the stuff they have saved. So it has to be someone asking for it to be taken down. The question is who.

>>151632122>>151632197No you fucking idiot, thats a false equivalent. Seeking out CP is encouraging its production. As long as there is a market, there is someone willing to satisfy it.
