A lot of it is cutting out the meandering.Mind you, as a long-time tabletop gamer I have a lot of love for the meandering in the first couple sessions of the Mighty Nein campaign, especially that wonderful wonderful session when the party was wandering around a quiet coastal town, looking under every unimportant stone, questioning the completely normal townspeople, getting increasingly frantic and asking themselves "what the fuck are we meant to do, oh God where's the plot?" all because they somehow convinced themselves that The Mystery Villain couldn't possibly be one of the people in the traveling circus when The Mystery Villain was absolutely one of the people in the traveling circus. Absolutely the right call to cut that shit for the show, but man. That was peak "I'm not going to railroad or handhold you schmucks, you're grown-ass adults, figure out this very easy mystery" DMing, with both players and DM squirming more and more as they wasted more and more time in the absolutely unimportant never-planned-out setting.
