There is no trust left towards DC to not pull one over on them.

I really think Batgirls did immeasurable damage to the brand; it burned all the hype and goodwill of all three fanbases, actively pissed off all three of them with how they characterized and presented the characters, the creators basically admitted they had zero handle on the characters, what people liked about them, and what the fans wanted to see from the book, refused to commit to any development or addition to the book down to not even letting them keep a car, and course correction was so slow and piecemeal by the time it was cancelled they were still saying just give us more time to eventually give you what you want. Because there is nothing I want more out of a Batgirls book than Babs being nagging spinster who gets booted from the title, a Cass who can't fight, and Steph as a spastic retard. And that's not getting into all the other issues that ruined what could have been book starring less-popular characters whose combined fanbases could have drawn more sales than otherwise.
