Dave and Rose ended up getting far more meaningful character development than John or Jade, she has some of the most iconic moments of Homestuck (the bathtub, jumping off the waterfall, going grimdark, the Tumor suicide mission, the Kiss). I'd argue Rose was one of the best written and complex characters in Homestuck, but ultimately she, along with most of the cast was done dirty by the sloppy retcon and resolution of the comic, and the post-canon developments only served to completely tar and feather her and any kind of growth she had. It makes me sad considering Rose is my favourite character and I feel like the conversations between her and Dave are among the very best in the comic, and that's saying something.
