Dinosaurs Attack by Topps
>>
>>151623874
So better?
>>
believe ti or not dinosaurs as R rated horror monsters are rare, only 3 or 4 films, not many books or comics
>>
i love the colors in this cards, dunno how they achieve it. Paint rather than ink?
>>
>>151623884
Why did Topps make sure Mars Attacks never killed children but they had no qualms about dinosaurs killing all the kids?

not a big fan of the time travel thing, I prefer when they don't explain the origin of the monsters. Romero didn't explain shit about zombies. Neither did Lovecraft with his gods.

>>
>>151624461
The time travel is important for the plot.
>Lovecraft never explained shit
He did, quite extensively. Like how Cthulhu is ultimately just an alien priest. The entire point is humanity is worthless and every other alien civilization mogs it.

So it well known we’ll never get an adaptation of something like this, right?
Pure dinosaur horror survival in a movie or tv show?
Not spectacle and family friendly like the Jurassic franchise, but pure horror porn.
>>
>>151625384

There are attempts. Like Carnosaur.

Or that movie that came out this year with dinos in Vietnam.

Like >>151624093 said Mars Attacks was in the 60s and released mass-market (grocery stores, drugs stores, etc) so they would've gotten into even more trouble. Dinosaurs Attack IIRC was released when there was a specialty market for cards in the 80s (there were trading card shops and comic shops that could sell it and have little pushback), but the problem this time was that people were way more interested in licensed movie/tv/cartoon cards than this.

Tim Burton wanted to do a Dinosaurs Attack movie, but then Jurassic Park got released and he scrapped it because he realized it wouldn't look as good

The Cadillacs and Dinosaurs comic (Xenozoic Tales) and cartoon are both amazing.

>>151627691
Here's a site with the whole thing in readable quality - it could be better but this is a common enough set that the scans are old. I could go back and upload better scans myself...

>>
>>151623991
I agree, but it would have never gotten past the ratings board, that or they would have to dumb down the violence and made it lame
>>
>>151630144
lots of questionable kids media was made in the 80s all thanks to the weed, coke and meth that run rampant in TV writers rooms, my favorite is this deranged cartoon

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5aPI9jYMCM
>>
>>151630144
That was the ethos at the time in the Topps New Product Development division - the cartoony stuff was supposed to be "naughty". Y'ever seen Garbage Pail Kids?
>>
>>151630454
Even the movie. I get random flashbacks every year. Thing is, that was satirical grossout humour over an obnoxious fad. This is some misery gorn. And not even at the 90s.

people always say silly things like "herbivores are not dangerous" come on, get a grip. My sister worked for a NGO in Africa and she saw herself how rhinos and buffaloes kill more people in a month that lions do in a year.
