here in poland egmont publishes the disney/ duck stories. Unfortunately all they seem to care about is reprinting/ publishing Carl Barks and Don Rosa over and and over again and very liitle of others creators aside from them now here lies be sure to read the followng artice very carefully.

We know which comics are included in the Million Dollar Coat: "The Secret of the Old Castle" and Other Stories volume , the first installment in the Disney Great Heroes series featuring Scrooge McDuck comics! It's both very good and... very bad . Unfortunately, the volume suffers from very similar problems to the Donald Duck edition , though ultimately it's a much more interesting book.
The cover price of the 420-page edition is PLN 119.99 and will be available from Wednesday on Empik.com , in Empik stores, and on Egmont.pl . It will be available in other retail outlets in January.

This is a very bad volume if you have the Barks, Rosa, and perhaps even the Christmas Gigant collection from last year . Of the 348 comic book pages, 249 are by Barks and Rosa, or 71.5%. By comparison, in the German edition, only 41% were stories by these creators. Furthermore, one of the four comics by other creators, Cavazzano's story that concludes the volume, was published in the Gigant Special , which went on sale just 13 months ago.

And here are the contents of Quack Adventures: "Crows and Ducks" and Other Stories,"

We expected Disney's Great Heroes to be a less-than-stellar series, but I don't think anyone expected that the volume "Quack Adventures: "Crows and Ducks" and Other Stories," scheduled for September 10th , would feature a whopping 130 pages of Barks and Rosa comics, and that 70% of the edition would consist of comics published in other hardcover editions. You can pre-order the 264-page volume on Guild , among other sites .

Compared to the Scandinavian edition, the volume is missing, among others, Gottfredson's The Case of the Vanishing Coats , Pezzina and Cavazano's Paperino e il croccante al diamante , Vicar's Coin Collector , and Ferioli's The Life and Lies of Donald Duck . Instead, we get more comics by Barks and Rosa, which are usually widely available as part of published complete collections. It's worth noting that even the volume's description mentions "contemporary Northern European stories," although no such comics will appear in this edition. The Scandinavian edition included two, and the Polish edition zero, but the mention remains.

Now here is my beef Carl Barks' Ducktown: A chronological collection of comics created by "The Duck Man" from 1943 to 1972. This series presents all the stories featuring Donald Duck, Scrooge McDuck, and other characters in the order they were created.

Right this was a collection of ALL of the works of Carl Barks in 30 HC books now then most of these books are still in print they were published from 2018 to 2025. now a person would think that Egmont would publish other creators works as such as. Romano Scarpa, william van horn after this but instead they reprint the worksq of Carl Barks and Don Rosa in huge quantities of couse I understand the need for reprints but a book should not contain a 71.5% amount of reprint. Now in closing egmont said they would cut down on the barks and Don Rosa reprints in future books but as it turns they are not thus they are simply lying their ass off and this makes them a fraud.

OK. So... what do you want /co/ to do about it? 90% of us are in the United States and could give less of a fuck about reprints of non-Barks/Rosa material... so what are you trying to accomplish here?

I guess they saved a buck or two on needed translations? Or royalties to authors? Anyway kinda crappy treatment of fans, embrace the autists, they're the ones teaching their kids to read duck comics.

I don't know, I mostly buy GIGANT books, they have the best page to price ratio. And to be honest it's always good to have more reprints of old Kaczor Donald stories, old Kaczor Donald magazines aren't usualy available in libraries.

Bad taste honestly, I'm American but a lot of these Euro comics are excellent. Barks is obviously the best but I like some of the Euro guys better than Rosa.
